B.L.M. At it again, Claims 90,000 acres do not belong to Texas rancher
35 replies, posted
The BLM removed armed federal agents from Bunkeville and near the Bundy ranch, but another possible “land grab” or range war appears to be brewing in Texas. Fellow rancher Tommy Henderson has been fighting the BLM for 30 years, and appears to be losing yet another round in the battle.
Tommy Henderson is locked in a property rights fight with the BLM. Although many students are taught in geography class that the border between Texas and Oklahoma is the Red River, the issue is far more complicated than that, according to the Bureau of Land Management. The BLM used an ongoing debate over the border to nab 140 acres of land Henderson’s failed lawsuit against the agency three decades ago.

Henderson holds a deed to the 90,000 acres, but such a legal document did not prevent him from losing the 140-acre parcel he had labored over and paid property taxes on for years.
Hopefully what happened in Neveda happens here, Considering it is his land and paid taxes for it.
If there's anyone you don't want to piss off, it's armed ranchers.
I wonder what the argument is going to be on that.
"At the end of the day a deed is just a piece of paper.'

What happened in Nevada was bullshit. I hope the government comes back with proper reinforcements.
What's happening here with Henderson looks like the Agency taking revenge on him after he's been taking them to court
What happened in Nevada was bullshit. I hope the government comes back with proper reinforcements.
I don't.
The winning move in this situation is not to make any move. All you are going to do is give the far-right more votes, and more pissed off voices.
What happened in Nevada was bullshit. I hope the government comes back with proper reinforcements.
I agree with you, what happened in Nevada was bullshit. But the the BLM has no reason to take this mans land since he owns it and pays taxes for it, unlike Bundy.

I dunno man, the dudes with tanks/apcs, helicopters, body armor, a much wider range of weaponry, and the backing of a government seem a lot scarier than some angry ranchers with guns.
Hi, this is Jason from Henderson.

Not really comparable situations.
Sure are a lot of people in here who aren't supportive of the BLM, wonder what happened to all the facepunchers swearing up and down the feds are pretty cool guys.
Well I guess I'll start then, How can anyone side with that inbred hick? If the BLM said it isn't his than he needs to follow the law and gtfo of government land. Anyone who says otherwise is just some redneck with a militia fantasy.

Not comparable situations, really. Bundy had no leg to stand on in his grazing incident. This guy appears to, potentially, but is having some legal handwaving about the border between Texas and Oklahoma used to nab some land he states is his (I'd guess his Deed stipulates that the territory which is his is in whichever State he is from, Texas I assume, so they're claiming that some of it is in Oklahoma and therefore not actually covered by his Deed. Just a guess though)
This source is really bad. One-sided articles aren't all that remarkable, but some of the sentences here don't actually make sense, like this one:
The BLM used an ongoing debate over the border to nab 140 acres of land Henderson’s failed lawsuit against the agency three decades ago.
I don't know if it's just me, but I can't figure out how to read that as a valid sentence?
And then there's this bit:

As soon as I read it I thought 'that's a really weird statement from the BLM'. It kind of looks like it's not a statement from the BLM at all, but an excerpt from a news article about them. And sure enough, as far as I can tell, it's an excerpt from this article from January, meaning they managed to pull off misquoting and plagiarism at the same time.

So he has a deed to this land, but they claim it's apparently not his, and him wanting to keep his land makes him an inbred, militant hick? Someone's got a big air of superiority shoved up their ass, as well as being a discriminatory prick, to call someone inbred for wanting to keep property that's rightfully theirs just because they're from Texas and a rancher.

He was being sarcastic, I'm pretty sure. Look at the sentence he opens with.
He's being all "Fuck the fed" and assuming that everyone who sided against Bundy will side against this guy too because they are (like he is, poor soul) incapable of treating things on a case by case basis.
Not really comparable situations.
Except I was replying to a comment that was drawing parallels between the two. Try reading.
(like he is, poor soul)
Hate it when someone insults me and all I can think is, "I deserved that."
You didn't have to ruin it for dacommie1 though, do you make a habit of telling children santa isn't real as well?
I'm going to wait for more information on this one before I decide who's in the wrong here.

Hey, thanks for taking it so well, not many people would take that punch and admit they deserved it.
And just the ones who deserve it. (It's like coal in their stocking but it stays with them forever)

Sarcasm is difficult to discern over text. I often try to italicize things when trying to convey sarcasm for just such a reason.

Santa isn't real? Wh...What?
Christmas is ruined forever now!

Well it was well played, you broke down the true meaning of the post and pointed out the logical error in it. I'll just have to make my next tongue-in-cheek post more clever.

I specifically make it hard to discern, if you read posts too quickly it becomes likely you misinterpret the meaning. This is a forum and not a faced paced image board or chatroom. If it were either of the latter I would take greater care in ensuring my sarcastic posts were more obvious.
If the article is correct, this rancher is just one person it would effect. It sounds like they're talking about the whole border between Texas and Oklahoma since the Red River moves overtime. The article states they're trying to redefine the boundary which would find many Texans suddenly becoming Oklahoma? Why would this be up to the Federal government and not Texas/Oklahoma?
Is the article trying to say the BLM is taking the land created by accretion and turning it into Federal land? Or are they saying they want to redefine the land to give Oklahoma back land it lost overtime which includes parts of this guys ranch?

Either way this is entirely different than Bundy.
This is starting to sound like one of those bad history channel reality shows.
Waiting for 'Explosions' to defend our epic government
I hate to pull the "source" card, but the only references I can find to this guy is from stuff like "Tea Party Crusaders" and "Above Top Secret", which aren't exactly going to be shining bastions of journalistic integrity.
I want to find out more information about the legal case the guy supposedly lost.

ye something doesn't add up here, either the BLM is literally looking to cause trouble for themselves and when the nevada guy was found to be a lying douche, they went and picked on someone else or this guy is also a lying douche.

Government is always right, no exceptions.
We should just bomb all the rednecks.

The only people saying anything like this are saying it ironically like you just did. Forget that the nevada guy actually was breaking the law, and forget that we everyone here is waiting for more information about this incident it's more fun to just post ignorant two sentence slams against ... no one because no one is actually saying that.

Oh damn I misread the attitude in this thread and made myself look stupid.
We should still bomb rednecks though.
