Saying that the U.S. still requires citizens of five EU member nations to obtain an entry visa, the European Union's Parliament approved a measure on Thursday calling for the EU Commission to urge full visa reciprocity — or reinstate visa requirements for Americans who want to visit Europe. The U.S. currently requires citizens of Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Poland and Romania to obtain visas before visiting. The move sets a two-month deadline for the EU Commission to act if the U.S. doesn't change its policy — but the Commission says it may not respond until this summer, according to Reuters. If it is reintroduced, the visa requirement would be temporary, the EU says.
http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/03/02/518129824/eu-parliament-seeks-to-reinstate-visas-for-american-travelers Alternate Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-eu-usa-visa-idUSKBN1691Q9?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews
Honestly, is fair that even americans who visit europe must have a visa. Hell, shall I go in the US with my girlfriend just to visit it, my girlfriend (who's polish) would be more disadvataged and unfair. I am Italian, and am a European citizen. My girlfriend is polish and is a European citizen.
i can be persuaded to get the thing with most of those countries, but what's the deal with poland? wtf
Well it would be bad for Poland as a country, as it's best people would even more freely leave the country for better salary. Of course they can always emigrate to Western Europe - bot not all people want to, as not everyone uses languages other than English, and England for Poles is ovverated and politically dangerous. USA would be a good 3rd way.
