The media has tried to serve up an image of Zimmerman as a racist and wannabe cop who had some sort of close relationship with the police department. Now flashback to 2010, the video posted below shows an incident in which a drunk adolescent son of a Sanford police official attacked a homeless black man named Sherman Ware without provocation.
Full Article: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/07/zimmerman-initiated-a-justice-for-sherman-ware-campaign/
Assaulting the homeless? BIG MAN!
Says the white man! This is obviously an attempt by conservative media to make white people seem less evil, when we all know they are a racist hive mind! #justice4traynon
I think people want there to be a bad guy in this case when there doesn't need to be one. Zimmerman didn't have to get out of his car - but there had been recent break-ins by someone acting the same as Martin, walking around slowly. Spotty evidence by any standard, but not completely uncalled for. Martin didn't have to jump Zimmerman from a bush - but if someone were following you at night, can you honestly say it was unjustified? When they started fighting, both were convinced that the other was there to do them harm; when the gun was found, both were convinced the other would kill them. At that point it likely became a fight for survival in their minds, and people will do anything to survive. There doesn't need to be a bad guy here. It's far more likely that it was a series of questionable decisions and misunderstandings leading to one death and one trial. Both of those were avoidable, but they simply weren't avoided.
Trayvon was a bad guy, though. Trayvon did have stolen women's jewelry, and a screw driver, in his backpack that was found during a search. He was probably the very person Zimmerman's neighborhood watch was formed to catch
MrBob's hit the nail on the head. When something like this goes on, everyone wants to think of things in terms of 'good' and 'evil' with no middle ground. I think Zimmerman exercised poor judgment, and Trayvon reacted too strongly. In the end, somebody died. To quote the fictional Sherlock Holmes, ""Why does fate play such tricks with poor, helpless worms? I never hear of such a case as this that I do not think of Baxter's words, and say, 'There, but for the grace of God, goes Sherlock Holmes.'" Zimmerman's going to go the rest of his life now, with a target painted on his back, at the mercy of people who don't know - And don't care to know - the facts of the case - Only that their bloodthirst be sated.
wait, what? where did you read this?

During a search of his backpack, the report said, campus security officers found 12 pieces of women's jewelry, a watch and a screwdriver that they felt could be used as a burglary tool.
huffington post Whilst that makes him a bad guy, it doesn't necessarily make him a bad guy in the Zimmerman case. What I do think suggests he is the bad guy in the Zimmerman case is that he returned to confront Zimmerman after he had ran away and Zimmerman had lost sight of him.
Funny how the stupid tray-bots forgot this already.
Its all just... so very fucked.

I live in the same county as Zimmerman, and a buddy of mine was saying he knows a kid who went to school with Trayvon, and the guy was apparently a massive dick. Random fights/Drugs in school etc. I know that we already know this but it's interesting to see these kinds of things pop up.

Honestly this verdict isn't perfect but it's perfectly fine; martin shouldn't have started a fight but he's dead now and zimmerman shouldn't have followed someone to the point where they got intimidated and confronted him. But he's got a long road ahead of him and he'll end up getting punished in some respect for his terrible decisions
