I've been learning piano on and off for almost 12 years now, but my repertoire sucks. Recommend me some good songs to learn, preferably with piano and not keyboard parts (although I'll be playing them on a keyboard anyways) Don't recommend something extremely difficult; to put things in perspective, I can play songs such as Virtual Insanity, Autumn Leaves, some parts of Firth of Fifth, and that's pretty much it really, although I can read pretty much all chords, know how to improvise (scales and harmony) but don't know pretty much any music notation; I can read G clef but at a terribly slow pace. Thanks
Depending on just how rudimentary your comprehension of notation is, I'd suggest working on it before moving forward. If you would like to become truly proficient as a pianist, it's necessary- especially if you'd like to build up a good repertoire.
Well, the Moonlight Sonata is one of the easiest songs I've ever learned.
Learn Firth of Fifth and put it on youtube!
