Apparently, it's arcade-only. I wish they had it on Wii U as well. :c
Before this thread starts rolling, I need to say this- yes, they announced it for arcade machines, but Harada fighting games always, always, ALWAYS get released on consoles later on. So many people are gonna be uninformed about that, and I wanted to make sure people don't start decrying Nintendo for making a shitty decision (when this probably was out of their hands to begin with).
Apparently, it's arcade-only.
It may as well be Japan-only because arcades everywhere else are dying. Someone in the pokemon thread said the game also has trademarks in the west.
Someone in the pokemon thread said the game also has trademarks in the west.
Yes that was me. Doing my part to spread the word, since so many people (like NEOGaf) think it's dead and gone for us westerners.
I guess this is what Harada was going to announce a month ago before Tekken 7 got leaked and he announced that instead.
Didn't a picture of Lucario leak before E3 alongside a rumour that it was from a Tekken Pokemon fighting game and everybody said it was fake?

I mean, it is one of Nintendo's trump cards for the console and everything, and it MAYBE would make me want one later on when I'd have cash to spend, but arcade only?! What the fuck.

For the past few games the console versions also come with more characters and content, so I'd wager the inevitable Wii U version of Pokken will too.
It's kinda sad arcade culture is dead in the west, from what I've seen and been told by friends there the arcade culture is alive and well and people form actual communities within their regions/arcade halls which also have their own fighting game styles and tactics because they learn from each other. I'd do anything to get that stuff back in the west.

I'm hoping it won't be just fighting types, as there are many non-fighting types that'd fit perfectly Bisharp Gengar Snorlax Beedrill Scyther Pinsir Dragonite Sneasel Ursaring Ludicolo Shiftry Deoxys Vespiquen Garchomp I could go on really.. Hopefully for fighting, Heracross and Hawlucha make it in. And.. if not? There's always this. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=196830672
Hawlucha better make it in god dammit. One of my favorite pokemon.
All three X and Y starters fully evolved would be good characters for the game.
Imagine Hawlucha with a similar fighting style to El Fuerte in SF4 :v:

Pity it's based off of Tekken, I've always found Tekken to be clunky and weird to play. Maybe just me though. Regardless, hopefully I can play as my nigga Conkeldurr.
I thought this was going to somehow be a cross of Poker and Tekken when I read the title

Tekken's gameplay is constantly in motion, but Pokken has those little SFesque pauses after each hit. I've always find them clunky.

Sold.
I doubt too many advanced mechanics will be in it at all. It would surprise me if they're marketing it towards hardcore fighting game fans.
