It's a compilation of the first game's cutscenes, yeah, but it still beats the other movies. However, it also includes the flash series LEGO released in the years 2002-2003 which is actually pretty damn hard to find nowadays, making this 58-minute movie full of nostalgia. At least for those who had these toys themselves. Respect the old times.
Huge nostalgia strike
Huge nostalgia strike
Oh, you have no idea. I cried more than once just because so many memories rushed through me. Watch the whole thing, you're not going to regret it.
Good old times before Bionicle turned into shit with all the horrible new crap
Ahh remember when they used to bring out Bionicle comics?
Good old times before Bionicle turned into shit with all the horrible new crap
Ee-yup. I liked it pretty much 100% until Metru. Just then the whole thing died for me. Nuva were great, Takanuva was...acceptable, but giving the evil and unknown a face lile they did with Makuta ruined the mystic atmosphere. Now it's like everything has an explanation and it..just doesn't feel the same. Remember when the commercials of Toa Mata first aired and you were like "Holy shit what are these things they look awesome!" Now if you see a BIONICLE commercial you go "Oh, so these must be x that y talked about." It's not as fun when you know everything. At least in my opinion. Even if it went to shit, it was a shame to see it die last year for good. A huge part of my childhood.
Just replayed through this game around 2 months ago. It's great. But it's too bad they fucked up Bionicle into some twisted modern consumer product, which it was, but it was good.
Good old times before Bionicle turned into shit with all the horrible new crap
Bionicle peaked at the Toa Nova and the Bohrok-Kal then almost immediately turned to shit with the next gen of Toa. Also: This film was fucking awesome.

One thing that killed it for me was the horrible look of the Toas. I mean what the fuck? They're supposed to be robots, yet they looked organic. I saw no cogwheels on their shoulders, no visible ball joints on their feet or arms...God awful, man. The story was decent and played out the Rakshi invasion, but it just could've been so much better. Still better than the other movies, I agree on that. What do you think of the 58 min flick in the OP, though?
I collected Bionicles for ages. Still have them lying around, can't bring myself to box them away or even take them apart.
I collected Bionicles for ages. That video made me take them out and put them into poses on top of the boxes, and oh my. These things have pretty decent articulation. I also made a Toa Tahu from 6 normal Mata Tahus once. He was about 60 cm tall and had double joints on his elbows, neck and knees. That right there was probably the biggest self-made Bionicle I ever had. And yeah, these things were still creative. I wonder why Templar stopped making these cartoon flash games, if they sold these now they'd make fucking hundreds.
Huge nostalgia trip.
wow, I've been looking for the bohrok saga for ages :buddy:
I did not really attend the actual cartoons, but even the reminder of BIONICLE gives me nostalgia and clear memories. I remember how I obtained my first one, and how my collection of them gradually grew into a gigantic bag of parts. I would then sometimes meet up with my friend and construct something interesting, such as BIONICLE themed monsters and relatively unrelated creations.
Guess im too old for this one :S can't remember ever seeing this movie

I don't see Bionicle as another LEGO, though. I see it as a crossover of Tolkien-class lore and kid's toys. You have this massive amount of stories, mythic characters and astrology in Bionicle but you also have simple characters kids can build. Sure had a lot of potential, too bad they forgot the part with the lore.
Guess im too old for this one :S can't remember ever seeing this movie
I remember seeing atleast one official movie, the one in which one of those little villager guys traveled through a rather curious journey and ended up transforming into an extremely important prophet-like bionicle. I am rather certain that it was the one mentioned above. [editline]24th May 2011[/editline]
You're not the only one, that was one of the selling parts of LEGO altogether. It is definitely difficult not to mention how suitable bionicles were for RP and general story development, partially what made them so interesting. Also, may I ask you what you meant by "lore"?
I have to say, I liked bionicle to when you could see the old toa in the massive city under the island, after that I think it went downhill.
Also, may I ask you what you meant by "lore"?
There's a bionicle wiki with hours worth of backstory to read.
The original green guy will always be my bro [img_thumb]http://images.wikia.com/bionicle/images/8/8a/Lewa.jpg[/img_thumb] What did they do to him!??!
I still have the lego parts of those first bionicles <3
I still have the original 6 toa on my shelf.
After all these years, I never understood why they never managed to make an RPG game out of the series. They had a crappy adventure game, but the story would have matched pretty well with a final fantasy-esque rpg system.
Holy shit an hour long? Better get some popcorn. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Oh nevermind, I remember watching the shit out of these cutscenes (played the game to hell and back and still haven't beaten it) [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Bohrok were by far my favorite Bionicle.
