Well, RIP RCT.

Sorry for lack of news source, I couldn't find anything on the announcement.
EDIT:
It turns out the RCT 1/2 Ports to Mobile have been canceled.

Thanks for supporting this atrocious business model atari.
I guess this could technically count as a source: http://www.rollercoastertycoon.com/
Now both you AND your park visitors pay to use the bathrooms
It was bound to happen.
Well there goes any hope of it being anything but a shitty freemium piece of shit.
Just take a look at the like to dislike ratio bar on Youtube. Should give you an idea of what to expect.
Shame, a mobile version of 1/2 would be amazing on an iPad, seeing as that game has an isometric camera.
iOS only too, that's just perfect.
On the other hand, wasn't there a proper Transport Tycoon port for mobile devices?

Which is what I thought was happening, it seemed like that was announced a while ago.
I guess not though...

Who even cares that it's iOS only? It's shitty anyways, just like Dungeon Keeper Mobile.
For anyone who's kept up with Atari over the past few years, this isn't a surprise.
They like microtransactions.
What hobbies are fun now that videogames are dead?
Another great franchise falls.

Woodworking is fun!
If you don't mind the splinters, heavy bits of wood, expensive pricetags, and systematically running out of fingers.
I hope this is an official Facebook page because 90% of the comments on the top thread are negative.

Apparently that was cancelled when Atari went bankrupt....

Oh look, another publisher shoves another beloved franchise down the mobile "pay to achieve anything" pipeline.

Alright, I'll be the devil's advocate here: where does it say it's gonna be f2p? All we know is it's mobile.

Those plus buttons next to the in-game currency pretty much confirm its free-to-play trash. They're pretty much standard fare in these kinds of money sinks.

I heard fishing is good.
Omg the mobile port is canceled :(
Coasterville.
Why is it 2009 again? Does that mean I've got my old job back?
Let's face it though, every single reboot/remake of our favorite childhood strategy games will be a free-to-play microtransactioned riddled piece of shit, that just seems to be the most profitable cash-in route for this genre
I want to get off gaming's wild ride.
First Crazy Taxi, now this. Jesus, it's things like this that makes me hate mobile gaming in general.
Microtransactions are such b.s. "You can either play the game or pay money so that you don't have to play it! And to give you some incentive, we'll make playing the game really grind-y and dull."
Just don't play it at all.
Wait Atari went bankrupt!?
This looks awful.
Fuck you Atari. I fucking loved RCT 1/2/3, was a huge fan of them. RCT4 comes so many fucking years later and you give us this shit.
Fuck you Atari.
Damn it.

I saw this and got all excited. I thought, "After all these years, are they finally going to be doing Roller Coaster Tycoon 4?"
Well, I was right. I guess.
Can someone just do an open source theme park management game already where you get to drown people?
