Raphael Schumacher was rushed to hospital at the weekend after an audience member at the production in Pisa realised something was wrong and rushed to his aid.
The 27-year-old actor was appearing in a production of a play called Mirages at the Teatro Lux.
After loosening the noose, the performer was lowered to the ground with the assistance of another audience member.
Police reportedly sealed off the theatre and interviewed members of the cast and audience.
Schumacher has yet to regain consciousness and remains in hospital.

Is the title intentionally trying to make it look like Ralf, the brother of Michael Schumacher, the F1 driver who went into a coma after a ski crash is the person in question?

i thought it was michael schumachers brother, it's been a long day :[
You didn't read the article at all? Even what you posted doesn't match up with Ralf, the age, the profession, or the fact that he's Italian and not German.
all I knew was ralph schumacher retired, i thought he was going this as a hobby :/
Fair enough. Of course, this event is pretty fuckin' awful too. Poor guy got hung by the neck 'till he fell into coma while the people around him hardly noticed anything wrong with it. Not really a great thing to happen to anyone.

Apparently the police are reporting that it's possible he intentionally did it and was trying to take his own life. This is of course unconfirmed as of right now, though.
Fixed title.

Sounds likely, he would have had a harness that supported his weight, and the noise shouldn't have actually been real, but Its also possible something just went horribly wrong
