Looks like this on my mac. I'm assuming it's the ghost/alien thing on Android devices... but what about PC/Linux?

Yes, emoji have unicode code points, so you can use them anywhere you can input text (provided there's a glyph available to render them).
It's a simple monochrome line drawing on Firefox Nightly/Win7 for me though, so the colour font capability likely isn't available here.
If it's a square you can usually fix it by installing the necessary font though, the system [I]should[/I] fall back to the proper glyph then.
Curiously enough these also don't break the ticker, unlike certain other symbols that have short HTML escape codes.

What else is there to talk about? "Oh hey Putin was alive okay"? I just don't really understand, are we still allowed to talk about what the OP does?
I mean, I would add something here so that I don't get banned for being completely off topic myself, but I honestly can't even think of anything more to this article. The whole freakout was dumb to begin with, not much more to say about it.
