They've also released it at GOG, with the same discount. Which, everyone was shocked about this.
Huh, I've had Titan Quest for the last couple years, from that THQ Humble Bundle, never played.
Cool! I like this game but I've never beaten it.
Oh my god, thank you based Nordic ;_;
Mastery overhauls holy shit. Time to replay this.
This game was actually very good. Time to replay it i suppose.
so does this mean multiplayer is no longer borked and i can easily play with my steam friends?
I never did get the expansion, but apparently just owning the original gets me this which has both?

yes

yes
Oh I remember this, played it a bit after loving Diablo. I really liked it but never finished it. Will probably coop it with some friends.
This is great news, they acquired it from THQ not just for the money, but they invested time and money to fix it up. Hopefully they will do the same for their other titles.
Btw, the issues with Titan Quest were one of the reasons PC Gaming Wiki was made. Hopefully they now officially fixed all the issues.

PCGW is a godsend. Poorly-optimized games and bad ports have full fixes. I decided to pick up Dead Island again recently and PCGW had a whole hook-in fan program that had loads of options available and made it run (and look) much better. Game was unplayable with motion blur and now it's fine, even though it's still a shitty game.
I tried with Titan Quest but there's so much shit there to make it usable. Since this exists I'll just play it instead - I've owned the game for like 5 years when I bought a THQ pack on steam and now I can actually properly play it. Nice.
I'm blown away from this, WOW
Ah man, too bad I already replayed this game not too long ago. Really awesome to see an update to it though, especially all the skill and monster changes + workshop support.
Amazing.
Holy shit I loved this game, playthrough #4 coming up.
Fantastic news. Good to see this game get some more life - it's a great one.

I've been playing a lot of old games recently and I always ended up on PCGW, because there is always some issue, install problems, no native widescreen support, low fov, etc. Now, I started updating the pages myself(Area 51 forced me to do it with all its issues).
The problem with Titan Quest for me is the combat itself. It's so uninspired. Weapons seem to hit with the strength of a fart and there's almost no feedback. Compared to Diablo 2's hack and slash glory that doesn't stop feeling amazing until the very end, TQ feels so boring to play through simply because of that.
Titan Quest, along with Sacred, was my shit back in the day! In hindsight, probably shouldn't have bought the expansion pack two months ago if I had known this was going to happen.
Now, if only Sacred could come back to form...
Oh god I never thought I would see the day Titan Quest would get something like this.
I'll actually consider buying it again on Steam/GoG just to be able to play with all the new stuff. Shame it will make my CD copy obsolete.
this is really cool.
a lot of this sounds like the stuff they were testing in one of the beta branches for TQ:IT quite recently; had some fun shit go on in certain versions, like my broken af infinite inventory in one of the earlier revisions :v:

unfortunately for me i recently finished my co-op playthrough with a buddy so it's waaay to soon to play through it again tho.

IMO, Path of Exile was even worse with this, at least way back when I played.

same here. i'll give the original a play before i touch the anniversary edition, so i can get the proper experience.

when did you last play? poe probably has the chunkiest hits out of any arpg, provided you played after closed beta and if you got past normal difficulty.

I can vouch for the fact that PoE got fantastic when it comes to feedback now and the game itself improved a ton.
I never got to finish this because at some point it would just lock my entire computer up after loading a character. Never used a mod, never played online(and therefore never got any "hacked" gear that would cause issues, if that was even a thing), no explanation. If Anniversary Edition just lets me play that's good enough.
I was wondering, if I buy Titan Quest on GOG, can I play with my friends who own it on steam?
This game is amazing. If you are looking for a good ARPG, I suggest you try it out. It has aged very well.
What I really like about Titan Quest is that it makes very good use of its historical backstory. It keeps true to the facts while putting a cool fantasy spin on everything.
Also, it has some interesting mechanics that I haven't seen in any ARPGs since (except Grim Dawn, which was developed by the original TQ developers, I believe). Monsters actually wear items that they have in their inventory. If you are looking for a legendary sword drop, you go and fight monsters that typically use swords (like skeletons), and if a monster is going to drop that sword, he will have it equipped and will fight with it. Items also show up on your character. Not just weapons, like in Diablo3 for instance, but also armor. This means characters all end up looking very different, and you feel like you are truly a unique character, rather than just another [insert class here] with a predefined graphical look. The class system is very interesting as well. Instead of just picking a class, you get to pick two masteries (out of nine total), which results in a huge amount of possible combinations.
If you are even remotely interested, I suggest you try it out. It has brought me and my friends hundreds upon hundreds of hours of fun. It's really worth it.
YES I loved this game!! An excuse to go again! :D
