Picture: AP [release]NEWS Corp chairman and chief executive Rupert Murdoch has accused internet giant Google of aiding film piracy. The media mogul used his recently activated Twitter account to blast the search engine, branding it a "piracy leader". A short time later he added to the rant, saying film making was "risky as hell", with piracy hurting actors and writers. Murdoch then added: "Google great company doing many exciting things. Only one complaint, and it's important. "Just been to google search for mission impossible. Wow, several sites offering free links. I rest my case." That was a reference to the latest Tom Cruise movie Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. The comments were among Murdoch's most outspoken since launching his Twitter account on January 1. He's used the social networking site to pass judgement on a number of subjects, ranging from serious comment on US politics to his own error-prone typing. "Re complaints about my spelling! Problem is my pathetic typing. Sorry, if anyone really cares," the media mogul wrote on January 10." News Corp is the parent company of the publisher of news.com.au[/release]
"Just been to google search for mission impossible. Wow, several sites offering free links. I rest my case."
how do I computer
I just can't take his rants seriously any more.
hahahaha what a senile old man
I've got to the point when I hear anything about piracy, my brain just shouts 'WHO CARES?'.
how do I computer
funny thing is using google to pirate is a really stupid and ineffective way to get virus's, so google isn't really that effective. Real pirates would obviously use things that ACTUALLY WORK. Even if you censored google it wouldn't stop it at all. He doesn't know shit.
As soon as he signed up to Twitter I knew this would happen. Just a stream of stupid comments that people are going to report on.
By that logic... Computers: Supreme Overlord Great Leaders of piracy
There should be a law that prevents politicians over 35 to comment on the internet.
There should be a law that prevents politicians over 35 to comment on the internet.
So, pretty much all of them, except that 20 year old MP in Australia.
Wow Murdoch sure knows a whole lot about search engines.
I wonder if he even knows what google really is? He's probably someone who bought a PC, and didn't know how to get anything but IE and Bing.
I googled Mission Impossible and got nothing about piracy. I have proof. [t]http://i.imgur.com/tzGan.png[/t]
Just stroke out already into a coma and never regain consciousness, you old fool.
I'm glad he joined twitter: everything he says is hilarious because of how out of touch he is with reality.
So, pretty much all of them, except that 20 year old MP in Australia.
Yes, I don't see much wrong with that. They can speak out when the politicians are updated, aka not old.
Oh Jesus On that newspaper he's holding you can see he's wearing a short sleeved shirt Never again

Somebody needs to explain this old millionaire fart what Google is for, and how Google works.
Your wealth is the hundreds of millions. What the fuck do you care if some poor kid downloads a movie made by one of the companies you own?
In other news: The us post office is blamed as the biggest supporter of mail bombs
