The former shadow chancellor, who lost his Morley and Outwood seat to the Conservatives by 422 votes, revealed one misgiving about Labour’s campaign – that it should have been more pro-business – but otherwise avoided recriminations and instead accepted his share of blame for the result. He also refused to attempt a full explanation for what went wrong for Labour, saying it was too early for him to have an answer. There has been speculation that Balls, who has been a powerhouse at the top of Labour politics since he started working for Gordon Brown in 1994, could seek an early return to the Commons through a byelection, but Balls told the BBC he was not planning a return to parliament and that “outside of politics is where I am going next”.
The balls have dropped
I love the puns you can do with his name.
I hope we can still celebrate Ed Ball Days. Next year is the 5th anniversary.

I actually liked him, as a Conservative. He was weak opponent and made a victory easier.
Ed Balls day should be made a bank holiday to commemorate him.

Oh god, if the mods start banning puns again, this thread is going to be even worse than that one about 420 blaze it.

A ballsy move, I must say.
How edgy of you!
Explain how this is edgy? Are you as ignorant to think that most political victories are purely from the strengths of the winning party? Balls is a weak politican and an unpopular one at that. It contributed to the victory of the Conservatives as most people still remember the fact that he wrote 'no money left' on as a note to the Conservatives. It's not 'edgy', it's just fact.
I got a selfie with Ed Balls a little while ago cos my cousin recognised him and I thought it'd be funny. maybe like last year? I can't remember. no you can't see it he seemed okay. apart from when he nabbed one of my chips [editline]24th May 2015[/editline]
Explain how this is edgy?
