Would-be iPhone thieves, take note: Chicago restaurateur Jason Chan chased and knocked out a man who stole an iPhone in his restaurant on Thursday. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Chan — who co-owns the Michelin-recommended restaurant Juno in Lincoln Park — became suspicious when a "too disheveled" man entered the restaurant and put his coat on the bar. After the man picked up his coat and left, Chan realized the man had stolen a customer's iPhone. While the customer filed a police report, Chan left the restaurant and found the thief, 37 year-old Justin Ballog, at a nearby pizzeria.
A former bouncer and Shidokan martial arts practitioner, Chan confronted Ballog and, when he "became adversarial," Chan "neutralized" Ballog with a kick to the face, leaving him unconscious until the police arrived. When Ballog awoke, Chan got him to admit he had, in fact, stolen the phone.
Fucked with the wrong guy.
Looks like the robber got cooked.
I really wish people would stop trying to take other people's stuff. He deserved the sore head richly for messing with the wrong restaurateur.
damn look at that eye! he got knocked the fuck out
How hard did he hit the guy holy shit

Just about strong enough.

Well there you go.

10 cents say that if he'd have been hit just a bit harder, his head would have been staved in, and he would never have risen again.
And then this thread would turn into a discussion of 'how much force do you apply in restraining someone.' :v:
Jason Chan? more like good ol' Jackie.

The similarities are breathtaking.
Sometimes its best to just give an old-school beat down to a scumbag. Police won't do shit.
Evil defeated, justice served. Shikodan kick to the face. I wish there was a CCTV shot or something so we can see his limp ragdoll body just timber
I don't know what Sidokan martial arts is but I assume he's a fucking ninja
And there's no video of it? Everyone in that pizzeria should feel ashamed
'neutralized' and 'a kick to the face' make for a pretty righteous sentence.

Indeed. He should've used a tazer.

Crime doesn't ryhme with North Korea (but diarrhea does).
Stories like this make me proud to be a Japanese, Shidokan-practicing Chicago restauranteur.
Ha, I used to work 5 minutes down the road from there. I'm glad to see this happen; there's so much theft and petty crime, it's obnoxious as hell to deal with

Good work Adam.

It should be considered a compliment to be compared to Jackie Chan.
