Well, that was pretty intense!
It's about 9:00 PM right now, and I just came back from a house that just exploded into flames, down our street.
I was in my living room, browsing on the computer, when suddenly, all the walls shook, followed by a powerful boom. My family thought something fell down, upstairs, but when I went up there, everything was normal. A couple minutes passed, and sirens began blitzing down our street, one after the other. I went outside, and a couple of neighbors were standing outside their houses. I asked what happened and they said they didn't know. They, too, felt a large boom, and went outside to see what it was. Me, being my adventurous self, went down the street to see what it was. I turn the corner to see the sky a dark orange, with smoke flaring upwards. I go closer, and the house on our corner had caught on fire. At least a dozen firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances each were parked at the scene. We're not exactly what caused the fire yet, but there was a bunch of utility trucks there, the night before.
I'll try to get some pictures in, if I can. I'm going to try and see why the fire was started.
Keep you posted, FP.

Speculations say it was a gas-leak, caused by the workers from yesterday tampering with the line. Nothing is confirmed, yet.
Edit:
It was a gas-leak. No one was home, and no one was severely injured or killed. The house is completely burned down, and the neighbor's house is partly scorched.
I'm going to bed, now. I promise I'll get pictures in soon.
According to Fairfax County Deputy Fire Chief Chuck Ryan, one house has been destroyed by what officials believe to be a natural gas explosion. The occupants were not home at the time, and there are no reported injuries or deaths. Two adults and two children have been displaced.
Two houses on either side have sustained substantial damages from the force of the explosion. Washington Gas officials are on the scene to determine where the explosion originated. Gas officials are still looking for an outside gas leak. Officials estimate that this investigation will take another hour.
Although the smell of gas is present in the streets, there is no danger to the neighboring residents, and those whose homes were undamaged have been allowed to return to their houses for the night.
The victims of the fire got left because they were going out for dinner. They only go out to dinner about twice a year. The couple and their child are now living across the street from where their house was.
News article updated, as well.
Ruben E. Rodriguez**, Director of Corporate Communications for Washington Gas, says that the investigation for the source of the gas leak is still underway. However, the neighbors do have gas at their homes.
The Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department Public Information Office confirmed that the house *that exploded, which was valued at $400,000, is now a total loss. The American Red Cross is assisting the family that lost its home.
Updates will be provided as more information is obtained.
Me and a few friends have started a donation pool for the family. We are also donating toys and gifts to give to the two children that lived there.
What would you all think to me opening a PayPal to donate to?
Is it a good idea to microwave this?
Probably a gas leak. I hope everybody's ok :ohdear:
Michael Bay must be in town.

Saw a guy getting carried into an ambulance. I doubt that is the case.
If it's a gas leak, those things can get pretty bad. I remember this one news articles where a house had leaky pipes, and the ensuing explosion blew the entire house skyward and crushed some people on the way down.
Sounds like a gas explosion of some sort.
Meth lab maybe?
Quick, post pictures!
Yeah, I hadn't been able to jack off it a while, sorry.

I can't get some, right now. I'll see if I can get some, tomorrow. There will probably be some articles on the news, tonight, as well.

Last week some yobs across the street blew up half their house. They were tampering with the gas and electric so they didnt have to pay.. fucking idiots.
There is now a skip full of what used to be their kitchen and whatever else it took with it.
I remember a few years ago when a transformer in front of my house was like exploding. It was scary because it was directly connected to my house. Luckily my house didn't explode lol.
"honey did I just hear an explosion you better not have dropped that dictionary again"
"no mom I'm sure it was nothing"

About a month ago construction crews accidentally hit a gas line while digging in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood, causing the pipe to detach from a home and explode into rubble. All this about ten houses away from the mayor! :ohdear:
Did somebody run and dive as it happened?
Sounds like you're having a gas over there.
