I think some characters are better in ones and other are better in other dubs. I like Jack in english and German, but Japanese Ethan and Mia are better than any other dubs IMO

It's def resident evil in first person, it's not terribly long though from what I've heard.
Is it just me or was Zoe's voice acting kinda bad? Her accent was all over the place, sometimes it did sound southern but sometimes it would almost sound british.

For a country that has all of it's movies voiced over, Germany really is pretty terrible at dubbing universally.

ok gr8. i was asking because while the demo was enjoyable i wasnt really sure where id place it, and afaik the demo is separate from the main game, so to speak, so the full game can be vastly different. anyways ill probably get RE7 after i get nioh

It's torture visiting for long times since all the movies they watch are dubbed, and none of the actors sound like their American counterparts.

I bought Metal Gear Solid 1 in the german PSN store and the game can only be played in german. It's so fucking bad that I couldn't play it. German voice actors give zero fucks most of the time and it's really cringey at times.
Just watched a german gameplay video of Resident Evil 7 and oh my god is it bad.
I am assuming that this is just the audio overlaying the gameplay right? The other languages don't have the same natural environmental sound
As always, german sounds the worst to me.
You can just hear them ACTING, they don't even try to sound natural.

Hey, hey. Remember what a disaster Half-Life 2 was in german? :v:
Played the whole game in Japanese and LOVED every minute of it. There is just a huge range of emotion that the English voices can't touch, especially with Lucas and Daddy Baker.
In other news, the game is fucking fantastic on a first playthrough of MadHouse mode. It's a shame that it's locked behind pre-orders or beating the game first as it is the true Resident Evil Experience. I really enjoyed the difficulty and it felt like I was home from a long journey of hand holding.
Does this game have anything to do with RE or is it a new universe/reboot? From all I've seen so far (including 2 hour gameplay) it has nothing to do with rest of RE universe.
For me any piece of media that's in it's language where it originated (for example Resident Evil 7 in Japanese) will always sound better than a dubbed version in a different language.

It's completely canon and connected to the existing Resident Evil universe. Without spoiling anything, it does so very well and tons of callbacks even to spinoffs like Outbreak and Codename Veronica exist.

I can't wait for Resident Evil 8 now. They seem to give a fuck about the story now even though the game was a bit too scripted for my taste but it's going into the right direction
