Yo Im no heavy religious guy but I had this thought after seeing this South Park episode years ago but does anyone thing a actual film about a war as epic as this would even be good or work. Not even considering the controversy it would bring.
Here is a clip if you dont remember or seen this episode:

Any thoughts?
LOTR is basically symbolically Heaven vs. Hell
It's true, Gandalf represents Christ, having died and been resurrected in a few days, and Sauron, almost perfectly fitting the Devil persona. It helped that the Narnia author worked with Tolkien as they shared ideas, since Aslan from Narnia also represents christ. They used religion as inspiration.

and sauron is trying to come out like the prophesy of the antichrist.
The answer, simply, is no. At least not with a half-decent script.
what if say Martin Scorsese said he was interested? beyond decent script..
You mean a movie about a war between two gods which could extinguish earth as we know it, and takes about 3+ movies to finish? I could do without.
Angels and Demons?
Would not watch it.
If it goes only by the Bible, it would be billions of demons, and only a few hundred, maybe a few thousand Angels.
Doesn't look any good.
Another Gay Movie was like a heaven vs. hell LOTR style movie.
maybe james cameron can direct it :smug:

You're an idiot. For this sort of thing, you need explosions, fire, and giant fucking robots.
Michael Bay is who you're looking for.
We need kenny!

which would be awesome

Actually, Sauron is more like an antichrist, Morgoth was Tolkien's Lucifer equivalent.
Angels and Demons?
Yes, this one.
Don't worry if it doesn't seem right at first, it'll get there.
If it goes only by the Bible, it would be billions of demons, and only a few hundred, maybe a few thousand Angels.
the Bible says 1/3rd of the Angels left with Satan and the rest stayed with God, so nope.
I've never understood why God doesn't just kill the devil. Surely he has powers over him, what with him just being a fallen angel and all that. I've not read the bible but I've come to assume its to keep balance on earth. :v:
On second though; That doesn't make such a great movie.

The answer for that question is usually "God know what he is doing" and "We should not question gods actions" or "Becouse god wants to test us and see if we would go with satan"
If he is unquestionable how the fuck are we supposed to prove he is real or not ?
I hated that south park episode bit. Not that it was bad, but I couldn't stand after watching 20 minutes of build-up of what would be the most epic battle since the dawn of time THAT I COULDN'T WATCH IT.

Hell yeah it is. . . just not for me though, I hate gimmicky movies like those.
Atheists team up with Hell and defeat God then all atheist scientists betray hell and make a new world based on atheism.
The end.
Well there is not really any good movies with Hell vs Heaven yet. But there is one about "Angels" attacking a truck stop or something. It's called Legion and it looks like a fairly good Action flick
Trailer.

You might wanna rethink what you just posted

God has already beaten Satan when Jesus died on the cross, Satan will never be destroyed just cast into Hell for eternally and God has said he will do it.
Isn't Legion Heaven vs Hell?
