Developers working on apps for Google's smart glasses have been told they will not be allowed to place advertising within the device's display.
The newly-published terms and conditions for developers working on Glass also prohibit companies charging for apps.
The glasses, which have a five megapixel camera and voice-activated controls, have started to be shipped.
The first devices will go to developers and "Glass Explorers".
Google held a competition earlier this year inviting potential users to come up with ways to use the device, while developers have been eager to be among the first to try out the technology.

Now that you mention that, imagine going to the bathroom and looking down to take a piss and you accidentally record a video or a picture and post it on facebook...

What kind of girlfriends have you had Lol
I'm still unclear on what the display is actually capable of, because every demo video I've seen just has the same clock displayed. Does it have color? Can it play video?
thats awesome
Sounds like a tough choice from a business perspective, but I think it could pay off for them.
To us it might seem like common sense, but thats pretty balsy considerimg how previlent advertising is these days.
No ads and all of the apps have to be free. I definitely see the point behind not having advertisements but that last bit is a far more interesting choice to me. I'm guessing this means lots of companion apps and subscriptions in our future.
Jesus christ google email me so i can pay you and pick em up

If your girlfriend berates you over your penis then she isn't a good girlfriend. Also on the subject of the article I'm glad there wont be ads. I can just imagine people driving looking at a map and an ad popping up and being distracting as hell.

yes, yes
i only say it in every single thread: the what it feels like video is basically exactly what glass looks like for the user

None, obviously.
This is for the "Explorer" edition.
It's up in the air for the actual consumer edition. We may still get ads and paid apps when this comse out for everyone and not random people on twitter.
