This dude literally changed the way I view not only hip-hop/instrumentals, but changed the way I looked at music as a whole. A seclusive and mysterious man, I guess it added to the mystique. His life was cut short on February 26th, 2010 due to a fatal car crash caused by an earthquake. From Wikipedia: Jun Seba (瀬葉淳, Seba Jun), (February 7, 1974 – February 26, 2010) was a Japanese hip-hop producer and DJ who recorded under the name Nujabes[img] (Noo-Jah-Bess). His alias was simply his penname "sebajun" spelled backwards. Nujabes was also owner of the Shibuya record stores, T Records and Guinness Records and founder of the independent label Hydeout Productions. Nujabes also worked on the popular anime "Samurai Champloo" as one of the many successful producers/Djs who helped make the 4 soundtracks. Reflection Eternal (the first song I heard and fell in love with): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnL3aTVQS9k Luv Sic Trilogy (made these songs with Japanese/English rapper Shing02): Pt. 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCmT8QMyUwU Pt. 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM7q1JMJrg4 Pt. 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyoYf7rZVGI Aruarian Dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUwRGPxCG_Y Kunomi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxQ2cTYx5Co Horizon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7pF6_PeamU Please do not disregard this just because it's hip-hop, because it is SO much more than that.
I've heard about this guy before, listened a few songs and liked it. But I don't usually listen to this kinda music. Very nice though.
Please do not disregard this just because it's hip-hop, because it is SO much more than that.
Its not hip-hop the way most people would think of it (as something akin to 'gangster rap'). It shares hiphop's beats, but its a much more engaging and intimate form of it. I'm surprised this even got featured. Even though deceased he'll still be in my heart :unsmith:
whaaa he died? he was cool
dude, i have all his albums and goddamn it i love Nujabes RIP
Seems pretty interesting to say the least. He seems like Moby.
Seems pretty interesting to say the least. He seems like Moby.
Yeah a bit. Just kind of a "jazzier" Moby.
i have everything nujabes has put out. you will be missed, jun seba. you make me luv (sic)
Same, even his super obscure mixtapes...
Damn I was listening to the first link and I knew it sounded familiar (watched Samurai Champloo like 999 years ago). This stuff is great!
