Bully and Manhunt, two Rockstar classics from the PlayStation 2-era, have been unexpectedly released on the PlayStation 4. Both titles upscale to 1080p and have been retrofitted with Trophy support.
Important note:
They are currently only available in Europe, but could show up in North America through the next scheduled PlayStation Store update.
Source: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/bully-and-manhunt-get-surprise-ps4-releases/1100-6435887/ This is pretty awesome, totally unexpected.
Worth noting that this is the PS2 version, not the Scholarship Edition.
Worth noting that this is the PS2 version, not the Scholarship Edition.
Did the Scholarship Edition even really improve much or was it just a requisite HD remaster of its time?
Did the Scholarship Edition even really improve much or was it just a requisite HD remaster of its time?
it was on an entirely new engine (3, depending on which platform you bought it for) and new classes and characters.
Ooh, maybe if the Manhunt sales go well we'll get a Manhunt 3.
Kind of a shame its not Scholarship Edition, i love the Santa mission
really surprised a game like manhunt was released in europe first instead of noa
really surprised a game like manhunt was released in europe first instead of noa
Well the developer is Rockstar North and they're in Edinburgh. Sort of makes sense I guess?
As much as I love Manhunt, I doubt this'll lead to a full-fledged sequel.
Well the developer is Rockstar North and they're in Edinburgh. Sort of makes sense I guess?
no, what i meant by that is the fact that manhunt has been banned in a lot of countries in the past due to its brutal level of violence. and everyone knows that europe can be a bit wimpy about video game violence.
i want a next gen manhunt
Heard Bully 2 was in development according to a music designer's resume. Where the hell is it, R* [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline] Are you talking about Manhunt 2 that got an AO rating before it was censored on consoles and later released non-censored on Steam?
or perhaps hes talking about Manhunt (series) and is referring to MH3
I was going to say yes for Bully, but surely it'd be better to stick with the scholarship edition on pc? [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline]
There probably won't be a Manhunt 3 after all the headaches it got for its gratuitous violence. GTA is on another level (less so than Manhunt). Besides, Rockstar is most likely working on Agent, Bully 2, and maybe LA Noire 2 (if they feel like it).
I'd kind of see "LA Noire 2" like calling the next elder scrolls game "Skyrim 2". I'm hoping they call it something like "Chicago Noire" or whatever :v:
I hope the Scholarship Edition comes gets fixed soon. It truly sucks playing the game only for a few minutes before it crashes on Windows 10.
Heard Bully 2 was in development according to a music designer's resume. Where the hell is it, R*
It was never confirmed by any chance, but on multiple occasions there has been shown interest in making it. I really hope it pulls through soon, Bully might be one of my favorite game concepts of all time.
Alright, I decided to check this out because it specifically said Europe, but uh... Where the fuck are the PS2-games in the store? I can't find them at all. There's no Classics- or PS2-category or anything like that anywhere.
ahh, peasants paying the premium for emulated games
no, what i meant by that is the fact that manhunt has been banned in a lot of countries in the past due to its brutal level of violence. and everyone knows that europe can be a bit wimpy about video game violence.
Only Germany really, which has weird censorship laws in general.
Ooh, maybe if the Manhunt sales go well we'll get a Manhunt 3.
In interviews, the developers have revealed that people felt uncomfortable while working on it due to it's subject matter, so i doubt they'll make a sequel. The most we can hope for is that Rockstar re-releases their older games on GOG.
God I would be over the moon if there were ever a Bully sequel. I think that was the most fun I've ever had playing a game. It's never gonna happen though.
Heard Bully 2 was in development according to a music designer's resume. Where the hell is it, R*
Well shit, I've been waiting over 10 fucking years for this.
ahh, peasants paying the premium for emulated games
hehe yea #pcmasturdrace

For everything else, the U.S. seems to be a lot more wimpy, if not in outright laws then at least in ratings and the ranting soccer-moms and anti-sex-people.
