if this was a situation of somebody who was arrested on some robbery or something else not really major, i guess it would be right to sue the prison guards for being too rough. But when you behead a soldier, yeah you deserve to get your face kicked in.

However, the prison officers weren't too rough, so he won't get anything.

It's the kind of shit that lets abuse become systemic in the prison system, something we really, really don't need if we want to keep re-offending rates down. We had a similar incident last year but while he ended up being gunned down I still didn't wish upon him to be hung from a hook and beaten about for a while with a baseball bat just because he gunned a soldier down and wreaked havoc in Ottawa.
