was something of a surprise when news broke earlier this year that a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine was in the works. We quite enjoyed the first movie, which proved to be a solid hit - buoyed by its DVD and Blu-ray revenues - but there had been no word of a follow-up in the immediate aftermath of the film's release. Still, the project looked like it was pulling together earlier this year when the news first hit, with only John Cusack missing from the original cast. Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke were all reportedly keen, with director Steve Pink involved in developing the film. As it turns out, it's full steam ahead. Collider has given an update on the project, after it spoke with Craig Robinson about Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Robinson revealed that "negotiations are still going" with John Cusack, which suggests he may yet be appearing in the movie. Furthermore, he's also confirmed that production will begin in June. With that in mind, a releeasein 2014 is looking likely..
http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/hot-tub-time-machine/25041/hot-tub-time-machine-2-to-film-in-june
I heard that movie was terrible. Never actually saw it, though.
I've never actually saw the film, but it was terrible.
The movie was so bad it was good.
I heard that movie was terrible. Never actually saw it, though.
It was rather enjoyable in my opinion, actually. Great guy's evening movie.
It was okay. Nothing amazing but exactly the kind of movie you watch at home with some homies.
It wasn't exactly stellar or anything but it was good, it was a comedy film and it delivered on its job, I'll be more than happy to watch the second one.
I thought the movie was hilarious. Great to sit down with friends and drink a beer and laugh.
The movie was so bad it was good.
Nah, it was just bad. The plot was horrendous, the humor was beyond lowbrow, they tried too hard for sexual jokes, the whole movie was beyond predictable and the actual time travel aspect was boring and done completely wrong. The only redeeming factor of the movie was the bellhop was Crispin Glover who played George McFly in Back To The Future. Beyond that this was as typical as typical gets for comedy movies today.

Why the hell didn't they all relive their youths? [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] I could never figure that out.
Why the hell didn't they all relive their youths? [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] I could never figure that out.
Because it was Lou's redemption story Why relive their youths when the end is happy

The movie was pretty enjoyable and all but how can you make a sequel after all that shit at the end?
I liked the first movie, don't need to make a second one though, it's going to end up like hangover 2.
I wouldn't call it a bad movie but it has moments that will make you go "wow that was terrible"
Great white buffalo.... I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic about this, I actually really enjoyed the first film despite some of the lackluster parts, I'm just kind of concerned about how they'll do it seeing as the first films ending was kind of an anti-sequel ending in my opinion.
First film was a bit of a let down IMO. Me and my friends didn't really get into it.
One of the greatest recent comedies in my opinion, original and hilarious. I think there's potential for the sequel to be good too.
Everyone i knew thought the movie was awesome and so do i, i cant believe like half of you thought it was bad

Anyone else think that the ending to the first one was surprisingly dark. These three guys now live a life they know nothing about. They don't even know where they fucking work. John Cusak goes home to find he's married to that girl that he knew for two days, and looks at all the photos he has of them together. Memories he doesn't/will never have.

Memories he doesn't/will never have.
I'm already calling it, if John Cusak doesn't want to be in the sequel the story will be something like him and his wife live happily ever after, while the other four begin to notice inconsistencies with life and how weird it is that they know nothing between the twenty years they time-traveled. They will either decide or be forced to go back into the past to fix something in the past and this time it won't just be something they remember almost every second of. And because the five of them, (Four excluding Cusak), are time-traveling dopplegangers, they run the risk of running into their past self of which they have no memory of because they aren't them. Directed by M. Night Shamalanalanam.
I fucking loved this movie!

The last 30 years of his life, which he still remembers, have been completely and totally erased and replaced by a 30 year long empty spot where he doesn't have any idea what happened. 30 years of relationship, career, friendships, all kinds of other shit that he suddenly knows nothing about. How is John Cusak not going to a mental institution within the week?"
I liked all the subtle back to the future tributes.
Definitely a fun movie to make drinking games with.
