Muslim Woman's Clothes Set On Fire In Midtown, NYC
A 36-year-old Scottish tourist wearing traditional Muslim garb had her blouse set on fire in a bizarre incident outside a pricey Fifth Ave. boutique, police sources said Monday.
The victim noticed the sleeve of her blouse was charred and smoldering in the Saturday night attack, just hours before the ceremony marking the 15-year anniversary of 9/11. She was not badly hurt.
“She saw (the suspect) pull a lighter away and walk away,” the source said. “He doesn’t say anything.”
The suspect was last seen strutting and swinging his arms along E. 54th St. just minutes after the fire attack. Surveillance footage shows the man was wearing a tank top, pants and a backwards hat — all black.
shit i forgot the source
I saw this in an opinion article that said 'a Muslim woman has been set on fire' and I was expecting something a bit more violent.
Uh, where is the source?
Is this a really trustworthy news site?
I mean, just look at this: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/michael-jackson-ran-elaborate-child-sex-abuse-operation-suit-article-1.2790802

It maybe isn't, but I'm willing to bet someone really was lit on fire. I don't think this would be made up.

That is basically exactly what happened, though. A guy walked up, set her clothes on fire (while she was wearing them), and walked off.

Here's one from Fox.
http://fox2now.com/2016/09/13/police-release-video-of-man-suspected-of-setting-muslim-tourist-on-fire-in-manhattan/
I wonder if this guy was just crazy or really hated muslims, and if he does hate them I wonder if he hates them because he thinks they are barbaric and are stuck in middle ages, and if that's also the case I'd just love to ask him if he realizes he's the barbarian that he assumes they are.
-snip-
New York, and right around the anniversary of 9/11.
Yup.
Suspect was last seen strutting and swinging his arms back and forth.
It has yet to be confirmed if he was also whistling a jaunty tune, but it has been advised to assume so for the sake of caution.
What in the fuck is wrong with people...

Well yes, but when I see the words 'woman set on fire' I don't imagine 'woman's clothes charred a bit'. I mean it's obviously horrible, but I feel this is kind of misleading.

Well I have this theory I stated in unpopular opinions.
The majority of people are sadistic idiots. Over every generation, they kill off the good, kind, smart people. Thus leaving more sadistic, violent idiots to be only whats left in the gene pool.

Ok then explain why Trump is so popular?
As for the edgy comment, sorry just because something is unpleasant should not be grounds to reject it.

The guy tried to burn someone alive. The title reflects the seriousness of what he tried to do.

If people were increasingly sadistic, violent, and less intelligent, then violent crime should be increasing right?
And yet murder rates go down every year, while global cooperation increases.

Trump and similar politicians in different western countries are gaining support because people wanted someone to address issues which everyone on the left from Trump and the like was too politically correct to even talk about. If you want to find a politician who's going to address your concern if say opening German borders for migrants had any negative effects you have to look so far to the right that the person you are going to find doesn't even care when people call him a racist and wants to build a fucking wall. Everyone to the left of that person is not even going to admit there are any negative effects or problems related to the open border policy. We have a saying in Poland that "a drowning man will clutch at a razor", Trump and the like are the razor.

It's cute how dramatic this post is
But America isn't exactly tearing itself apart. Trump just plays off of common fear mongering rhetoric.

Why dramatic? I don't even mean it as a good thing (notice "build a fucking wall"). And I'm not saying the situation is really dire either.
I'm just saying, people wanted to get some issues addressed and it took someone really far to the right to do it because he doesn't care when people call him a racist.
I'm sure many people who are voting far right now would prefer someone closer to the center but those politicians didn't want to come across as say islamophobes.

Terrorist acts or immigration from foreign muslims isn't even a real threat. The last big terror attack since 9/11 was A. From someone born and raised here B. Comparatively small.
The left doesn't "address the issue" because there isn't anything to address.

I don't understand where is all this coming from. I didn't say there's a threat. I didn't say America is crumbling.
The worst thing I've said here is "if say opening German borders for migrants had any negative effects". Notice the IF, that's not even a declarative statement. How did that become a serious thread over which America is crumbling?

I'm sorry I must have been confused with your rhetoric, claiming the left was "too politically correct", comparing the US to a drowning man clutching a razor, or suggesting the left isn't talking about an issue because they don't want to be seen as bigoted.
The left and right are not monolithic entities, why are you guys pretending so?
This very election should have proven that outliers can occasionally get involved
comparing the US to a drowning man clutching a razor,
Drowning is a problem that someone wants fixed or a concern to be addressed. Razor is a solution that you would not have chosen if you could find a better one.
It's not a comparison of the crumbling US while Trump is the radical and only solution. lol

Is there a single negative effect of the open border policy? How far right do you have to look to find a politician who's going to admit that there might be? Chances are you will have to go so far that the guy who's not afraid to talk is going to say "lets build a fucking wall".
And there is a problem of being "too politically correct". I said that generally speaking Middle-Eastern Muslims are conservative and not liberal and that somehow means I'm a racist arguing that "Muslim immigrants are violent adherents of Sharia". Simply saying "generally speaking Middle-Eastern Muslims are conservative" is enough to paint you as an islamophobe. Politicians won't risk saying anything that could be painted as racist/sexist/islamophobic/homophobic, unless they don't care about being called these things. Far right doesn't care.

You're pretty well known to be super anti-Islam and anti-migrant so I don't know why you're trying to act like you've been accused of things that you've never said.
You're pretty well known to be super anti-Islam and anti-migrant so I don't know why you're trying to act like you've been accused of things that you've never said.
Citation needed. This is exactly what I mean. I say "Muslims are conservative" oh you must be saying they are violent sharia adherents. I say "we shouldn't let a million people in without checking them" I'm anti-migrant.
I mean if you'd actually read what I say you'd have noticed that I said that closing the borders down completely would be even worse. But no, I'm an islamophobic anti-migrant asshole. Everyone who's questioning anything about the migrant crisis is an islamophobic anti-migrant asshole I take it.
And with that in mind do you really expect any politicians other than actual racists who don't care about being called a racist address any concerns or question anything?

I mean, fuck. Look at the very first post I've made in this thread. Surely I'm anti-Muslim.
Burkini ban? I was against that too.
