This is a 3d-reference concept for the old spacesuit that Houston, the main character in our game is going to be wearing. He's wearing the jacket on top of it because of an old habit and it also looks cool. :)
I got rid of the dumb breastplate that was in the original, and now most of the life support is integrated into the micrometeor fabric. Also now there actually exists a seam on the waist for entering the suit unlike the original which was a ridiculous mistake.
In this pic there is also the Skywalker (space-pun definitely intended :) ) exoskeleton. It's worn over any kind of clothing, and it's got a CPU in the back that interprets the user's neural impulses and reflexes, and accurately predicts his actions. There are small jet drivers positioned all over the exoskeleton, that the CPU uses to create downward momentum. This way the user can move around in low gravity, as well as in microgravity as if there was standard Earth gravity of 9,81m/s². so when the user "decides" that a certain wall on a space station is actually considered "the ground", the exo acknowledges that and adjusts the virtual direction of gravity accordingly. So you can run and jump around on surfaces even in the complete absence of gravity.
The next concept project will probably be Elizadeth's (sidekick's) shiny new spacesuit.
Got any cool ideas for new cool space gadgets? :D

Grappling hook is a must. A pulse pistol which fires only pulses of matter across the space (like shockwaves to push shit around) could be interesting. Watersprinkling grenade to make everything in the area covered in ice?

nice job bro

Nice ideas. :) A grappling hook is already planned. With 2 functions, passive and aggressive. You can either use it to drag yourself quickly across areas, or you can impale someone in a distance and quickly drag his corpse away and hide it.
A water grenade is problematic since even though there is -270°C in shade, there's also 130°C on the sunny side. And it would need to be detonated in flight to maximize the area, otherwise it would only cover a very small area of the surface because most of the water just flies away from the surface.
Wide pulses of matter are also problematic because they scatter very quickly, and since almost everyone outside is wearing magnetic boots, they'd just fall over. :D We have plasma- and pulse weapons though, that fire small pellets of ionized helium.

Yeap, water 'nade was bit interesting idea. Situational.
Do not deny that making people fall over wouldn't be fun. They'd probably lose their grip on any items they are carrying, too. ;P
Is there a link anywhere I could have that could show me to all your game ideas, Plutonia? I just recently jumped on board, and I'm loving it.

Ever play mass effect?
Well this looks like its driven from it
Plutonia and Xamllew, you are two of the best MSPaint artists I have seen. Please continue the fantastic work, guys!

About this specific piece of art. Along with most of your pieces, I cannot believe this was made in Paint
That is damn nice, how are you planning on making the game?
Wrist computer? jus tto keep if you have enough air or water :P
Ever play mass effect?

No. Never played and never will. I hate games that have experience points or leveling. Except Fallout.

We might make a web page at some point. I just think it seems pretentious to have a web page this early in development because all there is is some nice ideas and early concepts.
There are many of my concept pics here though. http://plutonia-v41.deviantart.com/gallery/#The-Quiet-Black And the "Tools and weapons 1" pic has lots of technical details about the guns there.
Too pixilated!
Do you mean "anti-aliased"? Right-click -> View image. ;)
Only just decided to post this Plutonia? It's been on your Deviant for ages :D
Anyway, amazing artwork as usual. Perhaps a thread for all your images is needed?

No I haven't posted this on dA. There's the one without the jacket, there's the one with the equipment harness, but there isn't this one that has the exoskeleton.
Very nice as always. I don't see how I can draw tits on this one so for now you outmanuveured me.
Rated arty.
Looks like a modified Nanosuit from Crysis, it's still totally awesome though.

How does it look like the nanosuit? This has got normal fabric and no electromechanical muscular structure. It's nothing fancy. I made it with the idea of "If a guy was riding a motorcycle, except in space... what would he wear?" :D
God damn you Plutonia. I wish I was as good at Paint as you are.
That. Is awesome.

I think it's the mask and the armor pads that does it. By the way, I totally agree. If I rode a bike in space I would wear that and some proper space pants :)
nice groin area there's reasonable room for boners
I think it might still hurt a little to have a boner with a urine catheter.
That's why we'd all hate to be him right now... :saddowns:
question though , why is there camo on a rescue suit?
and what environment does that camo work in?
INSIDE a volcano? :D
Really nice design though :)
Its mars camo.

There's no camo on the rescue jacket?
There's no camo on the rescue jacket?
I said rescue suit , not jacket :)
And removing the jacket would most probably not make him less of a rescue member :D
The ECEROS used to have different colors when H was working in the NVRD on the Moon. Grey with fluorescent orange (ambulance orange). But those colors aren't exactly great for stealth so he changed the micrometeor fabric to a different one, namely Mars highland camo.
The NVRD jacket is just something that the crew wore in the New Virginia colony.
Erm... Think you can make the jacket a little more "used"?
