[quote]Poachers tend to operate in places that are difficult to reach and far from law enforcement. For countries that want to protect their indigenous wildlife, especially the rare and endangered rhinos whose horns can sell for up to $300,000 in Vietnam, catching poachers and tracking them down can be an overwhelming task.
Kashmir Robotics is an organization set up to counter poachers with drones. Together with the Reserve Protection Agency, a wildlife protection non-profit, the South African National Parks, as well as drone companies like Global Unmanned Systems and Design Intelligence, Kashmir Robotics is hosting a contest to design a drone system (so, flying machine plus software) to patrol South Africa's Kruger National Park on the Mozambique border.
Deadline for entries is December 1st, 2013, and the top prize is a 10-day trip to Kruger National Park and $25,000. The challenge concludes October 4th, 2014, with the winning team invited to test their drone at Kruger.[/quote]

Tripwire on all horns that detonate 150kg of TNT upon removal.
Who needs drones now.
strap an ASM launcher to an octocopter
bam, done.
Where's my 25k??

kinda rids the point of the saving the animals if you just blow it up anyway.

Once the horn's being removed, the animal's beyond saving. Might as well take the poacher with it.
Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
Fuck it, just carpet bomb everything.

Combine synth
I'd suggest to just go and buy some from murica, thing is they cost around 5 times as much per drone.

Nah, buy israeli, they've been working so well over palenstine.
I think if I designed the whole drone I would rather set up a company and sell it, earn a lot more money.
The shark didn't work
Tag all the animals they can with sound detectors and a beacon. Boom nature wins.

It's tall so it can see the poachers come from far away, it is powered by a clean burning poacher bone furnace, has multiple sets of weapons to track and kill poachers from any range and any situation.
rocket fitst + crushing claws for close range,
missiles for indirect fire and aerial poachers,
anti missile system for those military poachers,
howitzer caliber heavy machine cannon for killing even the most well armored poacher,
eye cannon for sniping poachers,
"small" caliber crotch cannon for when there are too many poachers to handle otherwise,
30 cm thick armour on all sides so even the nigerian pirates can't damage it,
Chest-mounted particle beam cannon for killing an entire village of poachers at once.
Also it flies with a jetpack so it's eligible.
DARPA WildCat could work!

ATLAS would be even more menacing :v:
Imagine robotic animals, disguised perfectly.
[gunshots detected]
[deploying countermeasures]
Poaching would drop to a standstill.

We'z acceptin' payment in teef or in shoota'z. Cough up, or we smash ya.

Good goyim, yes design drones for us, yes
its.....to stop poachers
how about we create a campaign to inform the people effectively that the bones of a tiger actually give you aids and the horn of a rhino makes you gay, that'll stop Africans from poaching, grinding up, and snorting animal bones
Honestly, what do they think will happen?
[editline]6th October 2013[/editline]
People will just end up poaching the drones and selling their hardware.
