I found an old numberplate a few years back and stuck it up for decoration. But its been bugging me for years as to what car it came from! Is there any way I can find out? It's a square shape, so it might be a commercial plate?
A photo might help
In my amateur opinion, Bio might be right on this one
wow a license plate with a square shape? that is unusual
I didn't know they still made those
It is an old plate. 1988/89 year.
you can text the reg to the DVLA and they will give you information about the vehicle it belongs to but it costs like £3
Oh? Its not like on the website though is it? Where you also have to state the make?
Oh? Its not like on the website though is it? Where you also have to state the make?
No there isnt a website. License records are kept under strict access. Could you image someone on the internet running a plate they found in a photo and it returns the RO, Address, State, Model, Color, Tags, and status?
Oh? Its not like on the website though is it? Where you also have to state the make?
no, it searches the database and give you information on the car, not the owner. This is only via text you probably seen the advert a while back on tv, i cannot recall the number for it so you will have to find it yourself. In my eyes it could possibly be from a HGV, the 4 holes on the plate also suggest that. What type of road did you find it on?
square plates dont really indicate anything special, the numberplate doesnt show up registered to a vehicle, it could be anything, could be SORN'd, who knows

Set quite far back and much higher up. Square Plate Could Be Motorbike, Japanese Import, 4x4 (Such As A Mitsubishi Shogun) Or A Commercial. EDIT: Quick Google Search Vehicle Registration Plate:F796NLM Make:SCANIA Model:SCANIA OTHERS Colour:WHITE AND BLUE So Its A Commercial :)
Ohh wow! Least I now know, thanks! How did you find it out exactly? Never came up when I google searched! :) I'm searching now, I can't find the same details you did :(
Your vehicle (registration F796NLM) has been identified as a 1989 SCANIA DIESEL REAR DIGGER (SCANIA OTHERS). If you enter it on one of these sites it will tell you the details about the vehicle.
Your plate basically came of this
Why would that even have a plate.
Why would that even have a plate.
If its a commercial vehicle, I'm pretty sure they have to be licensed. Especially if they are driving on public roads.
There were some of those there like a day or two before I found that plate. They were at that site too... whoops. Thanks a lot though! That really helped! My friend has some plates too, found them too! Cheers! Ok, just did a Direct Gov. check on F796NLM an the vehicle was taxed only up to 1992. That plates been floating around the area for years!!

I want a collection of American Licence plates so much. Find them all too?
I think they are actually all from previous vehicles my father owned, however some of them he may have found, i don't think he owned THAT many.. And of course some of them are mine and my mothers. Couple are probably a grandparent or something.
shud get a big rig and reenact that movie with the bigrig with like 8 license plates that runs people off the road in the desert the fucksit called

All different places we have lived. Currently, we reside in NM, spent a lot of time in Cali (That's where i was born) Dad was born in NC and lived a large part of his life in MN, and then Colorado i think he spent a couple years. I think that covers all of them...He used to work for a construction company, which explains the more rare commercial plates.
