So I thought we could have this thread since the official Guitar Thread is pretty much solely about electric guitars and Metallica. Classical guitar (aka Spanish guitar) is a style of solo playing where you finger pick. Typically you play the bass, the melody + harmony by yourself. The guitars themselves are usually spanish made and have nice curves. They are pretty much exclusively nylon stringed. It utilizes three-finger style tremolo picking which is very difficult. But I'm starting to get the hang of it. I don't know many classical guitar pieces, but of the ones I've heard, this one is my favorite:
I have a classical guitar. It can play great stuff.
I play lots of classical guitar. I wish I had a camcorder to record some of my stuff though.
Eventually I will buy a classical guitar. But after I buy a new electric and a new amp and some drums and a bass and probably some other stuff.
I started with classical guitar, and it gave the foundation to play pretty much anything. Just the other week I dusted off my classical guitar to play a cover of Metallica's Orion with a buddy of mine at my school. Hopefully sounded something like this:
