yea nothing was better than the time facepunch, redditt, and 4chan all tried to play internet detective heroes and do their own investigations and potentially ruined the lives of several innocent people.

If you read the report you'll see that after the shooting he went to two people's house and told them to hide his vehicle AND he tried to buy their vehicle! So what happened?
They covered his vehicle with a tarp and lent, not sold, him their vehicle. Accessory to the murder of a cop, or just aiding and abetting a wanted criminal? You decide. Either way those are sketchy people who, if I was a cop, I'd search their backgrounds and home because I'm sure they can find some reason to throw them in prison.
