Tetsuya Nomura: It's possible to release FXV on PC if there is demand
During his on-air E3 Square Enix Presents interview, director Tetsuya Nomura commented that the game was being developed in a PC environment, and that platforms that best support DirectX 11 will be likely candidates for the game’s appearance. While this may rule out a WiiU debut, it has led some PC fans to wonder if Square Enix will throw a bone their way.
Yoshihisa Hashimoto, Square Enix’s Chief Technology Officer, has lead the charge into the next-generation for the company with the Luminous Engine that will host games such as Final Fantasy XV. A PC version is currently undecided, but “collaborations” with Luminous Studio are planned for the future. The game, as per the team, will require a top of the line (expensive) machine to run. It’s because of this, that they want to see what the “demand” will be from the PC audience (which is your cue to let them know that you want it).
More PC games!
YES YES YES AND YES
Fire up those petitions?
oh wow that's good
Kingdom hearts 3 on PC as well?
Let it happen, people who love the series and if this game is better then the previous sagas, people will buy it, and they get the profit.

rev up those petitions
that would officially give me no reason to buy a console
It's possible to release anything on PC if there is demand...
Hell if Dark Souls got on PC cause of a petition I don't see why FF shouldn't. FF would get WAY more requests cause it has a fucking way bigger fan-base.
Seems kinda silly that they wouldn't if it wouldn't require a great deal of effort considering the next gen consoles basically being PCs.
The logistics side of it isnt even really an argument, even if they didn't want to spend on manufacturing and shipping they could at least just throw it on Steam or on their site as a digital purchase/download. For them it would practically be free money, and if a big AAA game gets prepurchase options/a good while on the store's front page you can guarantee a large amount of people will buy it.
Exclusives are really stupid, you should buy a console because you like the console not the games for them.
Good thing that companies realize this and are starting to go from PC to consoles(Sony indies) and vice versa (Sqaure enix).
yay a FF game, almost as entertaining as bowel cancer
this is cool as long as xv isn't another hallway simulator

You know, this worries me a bit. It's great that the next-gen console will finally bring the minimum requirements bar way up. At the same time, this WILL significantly reduce the potential audience for next-gen titles that are ported to the PC. Only people with mid-high to high-end rigs will be able to run these games properly (a PC with specs comparable to the consoles will not run games as well as a console can, there's too much overhead). This in turn could cause poor PC game sales, which makes future porting efforts less attractive.
We have the advantage that the consoles are closer to the PC than ever, but let's not forget the fact that they have the potential to steal back some of that market share the PC painstakingly regained the past few years.

Huzzah uninformed opinions!

Nothing bad happened last gen, how should this change now? people forget, ever goddamn time we change gen, that we've faced this before and it went well. THis time we've got standard parity between consoles and PC. if anything, it'll be way better this time. Don't worry.

And that's why it won't happen.
Huzzah uninformed opinions!
huzzah someone who has a different opinion to me, must be uninformed!
huzzah someone who has a different opinion to me, must be uninformed!
Huzzah someone who judges a whole series based on its last 2 installments who gets called out on it, and denies being uninformed!
Huzzah uninformed opinions!
Why the fuck would it be an uninformed opinion
do you really think he would feel that FF games are like that if he hadn't played one?
Thats fucking dumb.

ffs do you know for a fact he's judging it only on two titles, or is the concept that maybe he didnt enjoy a single one so hard for your inner fanboy to accept?
Stop with this dumb shit. He didnt get called out on shit, you don't have to jump in with the other dude just because you're a FF fanboy too.
Its not an uninformed opinion, thats fucking dumb.
and before you start with the "y-youve n-never played a FF game!" I've played all of the main series, I generally like them. Its not hard for me to accept that someone thinks they are boring though.
By the way heres the petition if you want to vote

It's extremely obvious why people don't like JRPGs, but OK! (they were cool in the SNES days :( ) I haven't looked into XV yet so maybe things have changed.

XV looks nothing like no previous game of the series :v:
No combat system that should have died in the 90s? Now I'm interested.

Tomorrow's "top of the line" is the next day's "middle of the pack," and next week's "obsolete."

Wouldn't be the first time.

a lot of FF fans seem to resent or dislike PC gaming, at least from what I've seen on forums. Dark Souls felt like a PC game already so it was demanded
Then maybe they can go back and port the rest to the PC as well!
