WWE Superstar Darren Young Comes Out of the Closet - "I'm gay"
WWE superstar Darren Young just dropped a bombshell, telling TMZ, he's gay ... and no, this isn't part of the act.
Darren was at LAX Wednesday when we asked whether a gay wrestler could succeed in WWE, and Darren laughed, saying, "Absolutely. Look at me. I'm a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. I'm very happy."
For the record, Darren is now the first openly gay wrestler ever at WWE ... and the first headlining wrestler ever to come out while still signed to a major promotion.
Other pro wrestlers have been rumored to be gay, but that's it ... just rumors.
That video was somehow really nice to watch.
Good on him yo
That's gonna make wrestling awkward.

How?
He's been doing it for sometime now, hasnt he?
That's gonna make wrestling awkward.
Not really, I'm sure most of them already knew.

Wrestling, no. Wrasslin', maybe.

THATS NOT REAL WRAAAASSLIN'!
but... WWE is fake
but... WWE is fake
Scripted.
Scripted.
whatever, still not real and serious
whatever, still not real and serious
Have you even seen the CM Punk and Paul Heyman feud that's been going on as of recently? It's actually kind of heavy. CM Punk made it to the WWE BECAUSE of Paul Heyman, and now Paul has abandoned Punk to manage Brock Lesnar. Obviously, Punk feels betrayed.
Trust me, if you watch Punk's Best in the World DVD, this feud will make a lot more sense to you.

Second statement is true, the first one isn't.

What do you mean by "real" though.
I dont think you can fake falling off a ladder onto a table.

It's all made out of pillows.
The last big serious thing that I can remember from the WWE was when Hulk Hogan decided to ruin another wrestler's career by refusing to lose and he got fired for it.
That and all the wrestlers who hate each other and started beating each other up for real, one of which ended up having a chair smashed against his head for good.
Is this guy new to WWE?
I haven't watch wwe in years.

It's not real because it's essentially a long scripted stunt show. And like every good stunt show it does involve getting hurt a bit.
whatever, still not real and serious
way to quote the wrong south-park character.
He's gona lay the smackdown on all your candy asses.

That was JBL beating on the Blue Meanie, so Steven Richards fucked him up.

And Richards didn't give a shit at all. He just said he did the right thing and even taunted WWE to fire him for it.

Isn't Patterson being gay more of an open secret though

Understatement.
Stopped watching wwe when the storylines started being horrible. Sometimes I miss the attitude era. Back then I actually hated and loved the wrestlers, now it's just bland

The worst they get are deliberate cuts using razor blades and a few bruises. It's insanely controlled and well planned, and none of their tools are rubber stuff either, they just know how to use them properly to make it look real with minimal injury and pain.

You do know quite a few wrestlers have retired because of potentially life threatening injuries right?
I thought maybe he was messing around because of TMZ. But I like him and hope for the best in his career.

I think they've disallowed blading for the most part now.
I am curious if the wwe will make a tasteless storyline out of this.

Not without the wrestler's approval.

Umm people have died you clod. Owen Hart comes to mind.
Most of the really dangerous weapons such as barbed wire bats and sledgehammers are fake and sometimes it's REALLY obvious.
