Lathe work is my absolute favorite.
I really want to make one now [editline]3rd November 2015[/editline] Except I don't have a lathe or raw materials or skills to use a lathe

The principle is the same however you will need to use lighter fluid and something to create a spark. For this a bic lighter and a rubberband will do the trick. Place the activated lighter into the tube, soak the handle in lighter fluid and than chuck it hard into the paper towel tube. Fire should result.

[editline]4th November 2015[/editline] there's no such thing as "I don't have the tools", just "I don't have the creativity." modern machining tools have only been around for about 150 years, but we've been working metal for many thousands of years. it had to get done somehow for those 10,000 or so years.
More machining porn [video=youtube;v4jwVdFsoGo]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4jwVdFsoGo[/video] mmmm cnc
