Al Franken (D-Minn.) said Friday night that his Republican Senate colleagues privately express “great concern” about President Trump's temperament, and he joked about the GOP eventually impeaching Trump. Appearing on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Maher asked Franken what Republicans really say behind closed doors. Franken joked: “Well, there's a range in what they'll say, and some will say that he's not right mentally. And some are harsher.” “No, no. That's not fair. That was cheap,” he continued. “There are some who I guess don't talk to me.” Franken then got a bit more serious. “I haven't heard a lot of good things, and I've heard great concern about the president's temperament,” he said. Further proof that they will keep him for as long as they need a fall guy
If they really loved the country, they'd criticize him openly.
If they really loved the country, they'd criticize him openly.
They care more about their salaries and getting big "donations" [sp]bribes[/sp] from oligarchs as seen with Betsy Devos.
Further proof that they will keep him for as long as they need a fall guy
If we take the word of a man who clearly has an interest in sowing distrust and division in a party which is currently in a stronger position than his on every level, then yes, I guess this could pass for "proof".
Further proof that they will keep him for as long as they need a fall guy
Well it seems like they're only keeping him on so they can use him to push through the scummiest shit they never thought they could do before
If we take the word of a man who clearly has an interest in sowing distrust and division in a party which is currently in a stronger position than his on every level, then yes, I guess this could pass for "proof".
Do you really find it unbelievable that some number of GOP senators aren't fans of Trump and feel like this temperament might be affecting the long-term image of the party? Confirmation bias means that of course Franken will probably exaggerate how many exactly have talked to him with concerns but I highly doubt there are none at all. I'd be shocked if there were no Democrats who ever disagreed with things Obama did during his presidency.

You believe this man has a vested interest in sowing disunity among the rest of the GOP because he's saying critical things about Trump. The fact is, a politician should also have the balls to realize their party got behind a guy who happened to be a textbook narcissist and a sociopath to boot, who got into the election to improve the standing of his brand name. That's what these politicians who express concern at Trump's actions are doing because he's completely a loose cannon, who cannot be trusted to not fuck things up royally.
Well it seems like they're only keeping him on so they can use him to push through the scummiest shit they never thought they could do before
exactly the point he takes the blame for all of it and they get what they want
