Oh my God it looks awesome, but only on 2015? What the fuck :c
Storywise, this looks tons more interesting that Amnesia.
Looks great, getting real intense vibes from everything shown.
There will also be 5 more SOMA videos, according to the website.
Is this in a Brave New World kind of setting? The name Soma is kind of interesting.

Oh man, can't wait to play another Frictional horror game!

I just thought it'd be really cool if this game was actually in a BNW setting
"The subject that SOMA will discuss is consciousness. Personally, I find it the most profound questions that it is possible to ask. 'How can the feeling of subjective experience arise from a chunk of flesh?' Exploring this further takes us to questions such as 'Can machines be conscious?' and 'Do we have free will?' It quickly gets very disturbing, and is ideal for a futuristic horror setting. It is the kind of sci-fi that we want to make."
Kind of, not really.
I like the whole atmosphere, and the graphical side, but I didn't see much that would have scared me while playing. Perhaps it's because I've become desensitized to horrific scenes, or such? Kinda sucks.

I bought Outlast a few weeks ago and a friend of mine and me were playing it on our flat-projector. After about 30 minutes ingame I shat myself three times. I paused the game, quit it, uninstalled it and never played it again. :'D Also, from what I'm seeing it looks very promising even though I wouldn't be able to play it nor watch someone playing it. I think in order zu offer the player a more immersive feeling of its surroundings the developers should add the possibilty to actually see your body. For a horror game this works so nice!
I just hope the gameplay is actually different somewhat from Penumbra/Amnesia. I was really put off of Amnesia because it literally felt like a spruced up version of Penumbra.

While Penumbra and Amnesia had similar control styles, they were intuitive and worked well. I see no reason to change something that isn't broken. That being said, i'm sure with such a long development period ahead of them new core mechanics are still being worked on.
nevermind
God damn, this game looks interesting. I wonder if we'll meet any of the mechanisms mentioned in the other videos?
Please, please tell me that voice of the character is actually just something for the trailer. If it's seriously going to be in the game, then I'm going to be pissed. I love horror games, but there's nothing that pisses me off more than someone that screams, gasps and moans for me. Other than that, this looks extremely interesting, I love the setting and atmosphere so far. I'm sure the developers will make this game as good as they can.

Spoiler alert The main character is a robot. You heard it here first folks [editline]11th October 2013[/editline]
Please, please tell me that voice of the character is actually just something for the trailer. And he's a robot.
I hope if you can actually meet people in person this time, like that Imogen Reed girl. I was always annoyed that there were no friendlies you could ever encounter in previous frictional games.

They're going to make bank off the people who are obsessed with Amnesia and all these FPS horrors but that won't protect them from gaining flak over being lazy towards game design. The gameplay matters a lot because this is afterall a game, not a glorified movie. The gameplay was a pretty limited puzzler before and thus similar scenarios occured, they need to be inventive with it if they hope to interest people.

Penumbra wasn't exactly like Amnesia but they are kinda the same. I actually hope this game goes more into a penumbra style with more than 1 monster stalking you and harder puzzles. Amnesia was scary sure but the game felt kind of shallow.
Honestly a Frictional Games "glorified movie" is better than a David Cage "glorified movie", so I'm happy if it ends that way.
Anything is better than David Cage's shit, but Frictional could definitely do so much more than the usual formula. To truly scare you need to be creative as possible and in a game that comes directly from the gameplay.

Looks fucking great. I'm surprised it's coming out all the way in 2015. Time to play the waiting game.
looks pretty cool. interesting setting. the environment art is really great, very giger i don't want to start a debate about two games that are only somewhat similar, but i gotta say i'm way more interested in routine than this. amnesia's linear horror doesn't really appeal to me
This whole brain thing really reminds me of a short story I read called "Where am I?". http://www.newbanner.com/SecHumSCM/WhereAmI.html
If I'm understanding this right, those black tubes with the red lights on them are for housing the human brains, which remotely control the human bodies by using that metal brain substitute thing? Not sure how robots and aliens play into the whole thing but I can safely say I'm excited.
