Hague aimed his comments at Russia, which has had its own problems with attacks by Islamist militants, and has along with China repeatedly blocked U.N. Security Council action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Assad is locked in an almost two-year war with rebels that has killed nearly 70,000 people and has become a magnet for foreign jihadists intent on replacing Assad's mostly secular rule with a radical Islamic state. Hague said Britain had not lost faith in the Arab Spring revolutions that in the last two years have deposed four autocratic leaders, but warned that Syria was the most acute case of the movement being "hijacked" by militants. Hague, in a speech outlining British counter-terrorism strategy, labeled Syria the "number one destination for jihadists anywhere in the world today".
Read the entire article if you actually want to understand what he is talking about, its pretty interesting.
I doubt after such a long and bloody war the rebels would choose anything less than a true secular democracy.
An Islamist Egypt is a bigger concern.
An Islamist Egypt is a bigger concern.
No it isn't. They aren't Islamic extremists or nearly as bad as Saudi arabia. Plus they aren't sponsoring terrorists, infact they're beneficial to the region because they no longer bow to Israel's oppressive behaviour.

Why are we listening to a massive child? Honestly, all of the conservatives have: A) Huge foreheads B) Baby like faces Its like the local creche.

William Hague is one of those on the good list. Consistently does a good job, stays away from scandal. You sound like a reporter from The Sun or The Mirror who can't find anything bleak enough to find in the article and has reverted to name calling.
Whoops, perhaps we shouldn't have armed them all with kick ass assault rifles and military training doh
