Nothing is shown in the video but it's still fucking bizarre [editline]4th March 2017[/editline] Not sure if this is against the rules btw, nothing is shown or heard.
I was watching the stream when this happened, poor ice.

Apparently Ice has tried to commit suicide in the past so this really affected him. http://prnt.sc/efsb9u
People are saying the guy survived, not sure if it's confirmed though
Anyone else find it messed up the number of people in the comment stream saying "jump!"?
Anyone else find it messed up the number of people in the comment stream saying "jump!"?
That's Twitch chat for you. They can really be something awful at times.
Anyone else find it messed up the number of people in the comment stream saying "jump!"?
i bet they wouldn't have done that if Ice showed the guy on the balcony. they thought it was a joke
That's Twitch chat for you. They can really be something awful at times.
They're mostly kids
People are saying the guy survived, not sure if it's confirmed though
If that's where I think it is (Fancy mall in Hollywood Blvd next to the Chinese Theater), I've been to that place before, and I don't think that fall is high enough to kill you instantly. Definitely a very traumatizing thing to see happen, though.
Anyone else find it messed up the number of people in the comment stream saying "jump!"?
Welcome to internet edgelords.
Committing suicide in public always seemed like a horrible inconsiderate thing to do to me, it can really scar people who were just at the wrong place the wrong time. A friend of a friend of mine had to go to therapy because a guy jumped onto the train tracks, killing himself right in front of her. Of course I understand that it's a desperate cry for help and you can't really blame the people killing themselves, but it's a shitty circumstance none the less
It was a little shitty how he's just moaning about possibly getting banned instead of the, you know, person whose life just ended in front of him.
It was a little shitty how he's just moaning about possibly getting banned instead of the, you know, person whose life just ended in front of him.
It'd be pretty shitty to be banned from the place he makes a living out of too
It was a little shitty how he's just moaning about possibly getting banned instead of the, you know, person whose life just ended in front of him.
People tend to be pretty irrational while they're in shock. I wouldn't be surprised if this is far from how he usually acts or how he'd handle the situation if he had time to think about it.
So have we moved on to just watching people walking down the street on Twitch now? Great content.
So have we moved on to just watching people walking down the street on Twitch now? Great content.
it's pretty much vlogging. don't really see anything wrong with that.
So have we moved on to just watching people walking down the street on Twitch now? Great content.
Weird thing to complain about in a thread about a Twitch IRL streamer who just witnessed a possible suicide
ice has a long ban record and his next one will be permanent. twitch is very strict about showing anything offensive on stream and they hand out bans for seemingly minor offenses (also rather inconsistently) what else would've you wanted him to do? he shut down the stream pretty much instantly and was clearly in shock
Yeah but this was an incident that was completely out of his hands. He wasn't really trying to break the rules, he was just going along with his day and one person decided that right then and there was a good place to jump. He even tried to leave but couldn't get away in time. I think parts of the reasons why he lingered around could be because of a mixture of shock and denial. Ice Posideon does a lot of edgy stuff yeah, but this was a situation that is totally out of his control. I don't really think that's a justifiable ban.

Some people just see jumping as the easiest way to go, you just fall and then splat, you're done, you don't have to experience hanging yourself and whatever. It's hard to kill yourself via jumping and not also be somewhere public. When you wanna die you just wanna die, not scour google maps for something tall but also remote that you can get on top of, so you're gonna just go to whatever tall place you're familiar with. I think for some people they also want their death to 'be something', something people notice and feel something about, as opposed to dying quietly in your own home, perhaps rotting for days weeks or months before anyone notices.
It had to be iceposeidon too
I'd have talked the dude down just by pointing out how sketchy the lethality of that fall looks. I mean, yeah, it COULD kill you... or you survive, smashed, back broken, who knows whatever else, and instead you're crippling yourself and making a bad life GRIEVOUSLY worse. Then you can't even finish what you started, because people will be watching your ass and handing you sporks to eat with.

No, you wouldn't have talked the dude down, it's dumb to expect anybody could.

If for nothing else, than because I think it'd be shitty for him to suffer. I'm not saying I could have solved the situation, I'm saying his choice of location potentially makes something shitty even goddamn WORSE. And no, I'm not criticizing the suicidal man for being logistically irrational. It's just high on my context-free list of reasons not to fucking jump.

Negotiating with suicidal people isn't something just anyone can do. Some people are more likely to be better at it than others and in a high-charged situation like that, you can't put the expectation on literally anyone except like an actual hired civil servant to help that person in that moment of crisis. Just because you would have "talked him down" doesn't mean anyone else has the obligation to try and do so, especially if they are not the personality type that can do that. Idk who this Twitch guy is but he's not at fault for doing what he did during his stream. Must've been pretty fucked to watch that.
