Family and friends of the victims are struggling to understand the killings
Stanley Neace, 47, went on the killing spree in a trailer park in Jackson, rural Breathitt County, Kentucky.
He chased his wife into a neighbouring trailer where he shot her, her daughter and three witnesses, reports say.
State troopers found Mr Neace dead at the porch of his trailer, slumped over his own gun.
Mr Neace flew into a rage when his wife Sandra, 54, brought him some eggs for breakfast, a relative of the neighbours he killed said.
Mrs Neace's daughter Sandra Strong, 28, was also killed.
Commotion
The other victims were named as neighbours Dennis Turner, 31, Teresa Fugate, 30, and Tammy Kilborn, 40.
Ms Fugate was shot in front of her seven-year-old daughter, who Mr Neace spared.
"Her daughter said, 'Please, please don't shoot me,' and he said, 'All right, you can leave,' and she ran out," Ms Fugate's sister Sherri Anne Robinson told the Associated Press.
Mrs Kiborn was another neighbour who stepped out onto her porch during the commotion, reports said.
Mr Neace apparently waited an hour for the police to arrive before turning the gun on himself, police heard the shot as they drove up to the trailer.
Other neighbours had fled in terror during the rampage.
Breathitt county is Kentucky's rural eastern region, where gun ownership numbers are high.
"Over eggs? I thought that was crazy. I mean just because his eggs weren't hot?" Ms Robinson said.[/release]
That guy is a real rotten egg...

oh come on media, really? we all know it had something more to do with just eggs
Wow, some people takes minor things way too seriously
Why was he arguing about breakfast if he was eager to get his just desserts?

This is no time for yolks.

Not surprised.
This is extremely common. WWI was about france fucking up the kaiser's french toast.
Cook the man some fuckin' eggs!
(Kudos if you know what that's from)
The picture looks like something out of a detective series.
And people thought I was bad after screaming at the top my lungs because my poached eggs were too far cooked. I wanted them lightly poached, not a fully poached egg.
I guess you could say he's a cereal killer

I thought that was a pretty good joke. Took me a while because I'm not an egghead.
At least he spared the seven-year-old girl...

I like how gun ownership was brought up. Because a man who would kill his own wife and child would obviously never do so without a gun.
He just wanted breakfast
I don't think it really said it in a negative connotation, it was just a statement. If anything it just goes to show that having guns around the neighborhood doesn't stop tragic freak accidents like this from happening, as his neighbors are likely armed to the teeth yet none of them did (or could do) anything to stop it.
At any rate, guns are enablers, if he didn't have a gun he'd have to finish his breakfast for the energy, get up, go sharpen the knives, work up the courage, chase down each individual person, devote at least a good 3 minutes to finishing them off good and proper, etc. It's just too much damn work, he'd just eat his fucking eggs instead and keep quiet.
Jokes aside, this is pretty tragic. I mean, if he was having issues with his wife I can see why he might have done it, but to go on an outright killing spree :ohdear:

Not true, most killingsprees occur in gun-free zones, criminals ignore laws, and making guns illeagal will just disarm the public.
Example, an even bigger killing spree:
A man drives a truck through this resturant window, steps out, pulls a gun, and walks up to individuals, executing them one by one. One of the survivors there whent with her parents, it was the last day she saw them alive, after witnessing their brutal execution. A lot of people in that resturant died. She was a gun enthusiast, and the only reason as to why she did not just get up and shoot that madman before he had killed her parents was due to a law that says she has to leave her gun in her car.
Do you honestly think that truckdriver gave a damn about that rule? No?
Well then, I guess we know what the real enabler is then.
I honestly thought this was a badage boys thread :saddowns:

Oh, now I've seen the error of my ways. One anecdotal story out of some 30,000 gun related deaths a year proves you point without a single fallacy.
Anyways, it doesn't matter, gun ownership is probably irrelevant in this case, as this is basically what qualifies as a freak indecent, all killing sprees really are.. there's no real way of predicting or stopping them in progress and if it doesn't take the form of a shooting, it's a bombing or some automobile bender. All I was saying is that the article doesn't bring up gun ownership in a negative way, it simply mentioned it.
I was going to make a Breakfast in America joke, but instead I'll leave the idea here for someone who can actually do a good job.
"trailer park"
all has become clear now

I know tons of cops, I could easily get a course in how to use a sidearm, I practically grew up in a policestation. If I walked the streets with a gun, I would not have any intention to harm anyone, but if someone did, they'd most likley find themselves face down on the street.
Ever heard of a killing spree at an NRA meeting? Or maybe one in a high security military stockade? Pherhaps even one in a police station that was not directed to some guy who specificly hates cops?
I kind of doubt it, because guns scare the living shit out of people, and if everyone were given a handgun, does not matter what they did with it, they could sell it, carry it, whatever, but as long as everyone were given a gun, and the muggers and the like knew about it, they'd be terrified to rob someone, since they'd never know if that person is packing, or if a bystander is packing, truth is, they'd be scared shitless, because suddenly their jobs involved a risk you'll that might make it your last job.
The average person has a good will, and means well, and won't mind protecting themselves, or a friend in need.
The forefathers gave people the right to bear arms to keep one's nation safe, both from what might be out on the streets, and their leaders, a dangerous people is feared by the government, which means that it will abolish the risk of opresson and tyranny.
Thank you, and may the spirit of the most sacred of documents, the constitution of the united states, live on to comming generations, and inspire the rest of the world, leading them to saftey by trusting honest people with common sense, such as you and me, and everyone else with a good heart, and a will to make the land of the free a garden of it's on turbulance, for the rest of the nations to walk upon.

Partially, I mean, guns are dangerous and criminals are selfish, so if their "clients" has guns, they're less likley to rob them. It just is not worth the risk.
There are no dumb muggers or the like, they tend to be desperate, but still have common sense.
I get pissed when my eggs are under-cooked but goddamn.
