embargo went up on that dark souls 3 event, here's some gameplay I need it
The crystal lizards bulked up.
Wow, that lizard is cool as fuck and it's not even a miniboss. Can't wait to see how crazy the bosses are, anthing would be better than what we got in DS2
Can't wait to see how crazy the bosses are, anthing would be better than what we got in DS2
After seeing what they're capable of in Bloodborne, as am I.
That environment looks amazing! This is how you make a desaturated color theme.
I don't really know how I feel about this. I was hoping they would bring back the atmosphere of Dark Souls, but this just seems way too dark and grey...
[sp]How the fuck is Andre still alive?[/sp]
very demon's soulsy
I'm not gonna watch the video but I'm assuming it only shows off the first area, right? The other locations could have a lot more color
Barely taking any damage from those fire projectiles? Man i'm playing Dark Souls for the first time and those would be a 1 hit k/o
Looks just Dark Souls instead of what the sequel did, I can't fucking wait.
I will buy it if the PC controls are actually usable this time around, I like the games, just never have been able to play it with Keyboard and Mouse, and I hate using controllers.
holy fucking shit that [sp]transforming knight statue thing[/sp]
[sp]How the fuck is Andre still alive?[/sp]
That's what happens when you're [sp]the firstborn of Gwyn, Lord of Sunlight.[/sp]
My favorite part of this is that, unlike DS2, the environments seem massive in a manner of perspective. Maybe it was the camera, but DS2 just felt kinda tiny and closed-in.
My favorite part of this is that, unlike DS2, the environments seem massive in a manner of perspective. Maybe it was the camera, but DS2 just felt kinda tiny and closed-in.
DS2 has completely fucking abysmal scale thanks to the completely fucked level design. the world was completely made in parts instead of a grand setting. Think of demon souls, but the levels are somehow connected to each other. Someone took the whole world and found areas even fucking collide with other areas. In DS1 you can see major parts of the different areas from a distance, this grants amazing immersion because you realize how far away you are from other locals. The only area in DS2 that does this is majula and the sunken temple place, but you literally take a small jog underground and end up literal miles away from the other location. I remembered every way to get around in DS1 just because its really obvious what leads to what. DS2 its just random what leads to where because one minute youre in a poison valley and the next elevator ride up a castle takes you to a lava ocean. People keep saying its supposed to be your character just like warping around because of some magic, but even if thats true, its a really shitty cop out of good world building and level design.

I am glad they are at least playing a safe route with the franchise and keeping to tradition in hopes of polishing those ideas and values more than Dark Souls 2. I have a feeling I still won't like this more than Dark Souls 1, I might seem a little crazy and nitpicky but there is something BIG and EPIC about this similar to Bloodborne. While Demons and Dark Souls 1 had a bit more held-back, depressing atmospheric moodiness. And to me a tiny bit more subtlety, I actually think this has more to do with their budget limitations in Demons and DaS1. I mean just like those random gravestones sitting on the side of the cliff-face in this game, and stuff like that, it just reminds me of the over the top halloweeny Gothic-Victorian design decisions made in Bloodborne. Which is fine because in the end only the gameplay matters. I am just pointing out what struck to my head the first time I saw this. You will all probably disagree with me. [editline]2nd March 2016[/editline] Also crystal lizards don't fuck around anymore holy shit.
I can't help but think at the first boss [sp]how fs probably realized how people didn't like the amount of cookie cutter knights as bosses in ds2, and went "oh look another knight boss- oh wait he's NOT" [/sp]
I don't really know how I feel about this.
[sp]How the fuck is Andre still alive?[/sp]
[sp]He's one of the sons of Gwyn, so he doesn't age. Besides I imagine he minded his own business most of the time, what with being a blacksmith and that's what kept him safe from dangers of the world.[/sp]
[sp]He's one of the sons of Gwyn, so he doesn't age. [/sp]
I thought [sp] that was just the original idea for Andre when miyazaki was developing DS1 but he threw it out and used him as the blacksmith because the model/character was still available and he didn't want to waste it [/sp]
I will buy it if the PC controls are actually usable this time around, I like the games, just never have been able to play it with Keyboard and Mouse, and I hate using controllers.
I don't think this game will ever work incredibly well with a keyboard and mouse, it's just not in its nature
Eh that menu music is kind of generic. My favorite tracks from the souls games are the more unconventional ones that sound like something Square would use.
I don't think this game will ever work incredibly well with a keyboard and mouse, it's just not in its nature
I played DS2 (my first Dark Souls game) with a KBM, played through it smoothly, DS1 is a whole other story
I will buy it if the PC controls are actually usable this time around, I like the games, just never have been able to play it with Keyboard and Mouse, and I hate using controllers.
you're missing out. DS requires a degree of precision which can be done easily on a controller, on a KB+m not so much. why do you think super meat boy heavily recommended a controller? but they should still fix their stupid mouse camera controls though
I played DS2 (my first Dark Souls game) with a KBM, played through it smoothly, DS1 is a whole other story
I'm not talking about that though, I feel like WASD would limit your movement or at least put you at a disadvantage over someone using a thumbstick
[sp]How the fuck is Andre still alive?[/sp]
[sp]well he is a blacksmith, and i assume he's undead, so if everyone keeps coming to him with souls in order to purchase and to create weapons, he could live forever without going hollow[/sp]

I played DS2 on kb+m no problem
I'm not talking about that though, I feel like WASD would limit your movement or at least put you at a disadvantage over someone using a thumbstick
I totally agree, after playing Bloodborne on the PS4 I can't see myself playing DS3 without a controller, but I still think that anyone's capable of playing it with a KB+M
