I'm not sure if this is late because the advert is 3 months old BUT the complaints have only just been published in the news. This is the advert. You will have to log in to view it. TL:DR - Top Gear has had complaints against its spoof advert of a man killing himself because life was bad, he lost all his money, so he kills himself then the advert goes on about how he should have waited for the new VW Scirocco. Basically he shoots himself and there's blood and the advert was shown before the 'watershed'. I think this is a stupid thing to complain about. So what it is a joke advert.
I saw this in the show, fucking hilarious.
Yet no one complained about the "for people who value their arms" one?
I don't have a problem with it but I could easily see people who would I had a friend whose mother committed suicide and you can't even so much as mention the word without him throwing a fit
well it wasn't it wasn't actually aired as an advert, it was still shown in top gear
I had a friend whose mother committed suicide and you can't even so much as mention the word without him throwing a fit
Then he needs to grow up
Then he needs to grow up
Agree'd. People who over react like that just do it for attention or for personal benefit.
People just have no sense of humor today.
Ahahaha, I remember those episodes. Awesome.
Volkswagen Scirocco
Fixed! =)
I had a friend whose mother committed suicide and you can't even so much as mention the word without him throwing a fit
I'd put emphasis on every time I said "sue" or "side". He'd get angrier and angrier and nobody else would be the wiser.
The spoof advert, screened in an 8pm slot, prompted 50 complaints to Ofcom that footage was too graphic for that time.
sure a lot of people. How many viewers has top gear? 5 million?
Should of used this song instead of the violent advert
In the show it shows they're making adverts for a car. It's obviously not real. You can watch all of the adverts on 2:37 is my favourite.
Then he needs to grow up
Look in your local newspaper and try to find an obituary for someone who committed suicide. Hint: [sp]You won't find one[/sp]
Wow, those British commercials are gory.
love those guys
Top Gear is awesome, and it pisses me off how sad people complain about shit like this. It's like te banned xbox advert. That was a load of bullshit. It was an awesome ad aswell
sure a lot of people. How many viewers has top gear? 5 million?
300 million.
lmao from Berlin to Warsaw in one tank
300 million.
I think more currently.
I'd put emphasis on every time I said "sue" or "side". He'd get angrier and angrier and nobody else would be the wiser.
Pretty much what my other friend did all the time. He would make remarks around how bored he was and wanted to shoot himself because of it. A teacher sent him to a consular once because they thought he was serious
It doesn't matter whether it was real or not, or whether it's a joke or not, it shows a man killing himself which is only acceptable after 9pm.
I had a friend whose mother committed suicide and you can't even so much as mention the word without him throwing a fit
Yeah but I guarantee most people who are complaining have had nothing do to with suicide. And besides, he committed suicide in a hugely different context, so it shouldn't really effect it |: If someone was making a direct joke about -his- mother committing suicide then I'd understand. But this isn't. Its a completely fictional character doing it.
Wow, has it come to this. A little red food dye mixed with corn starch is thrown after a guy pulls a fake gun and fakes a suicide then the Middle class huff and puff?? Load of riff raff if you ask me. What i like about Top Gear is that they just couldn't give a shit, they make informative, funny car related programs with a sense of black humour sometimes. Even my 8yr old sister could tell it was fake and said so. If you don't like the program then don't watch it and FFS stop complaining, just because you can doesn't mean you should. Besides Jeremy Clarkson would just make fun of your face.
It doesn't matter whether it was real or not, or whether it's a joke or not, it shows a man killing himself which is only acceptable after 9pm.
I like the way we humans think if it is 8:59 someone can't kill themselves on tv, but at 9:00 it's perfectly alright. These guidlines do jack all.
Shit someone made a spoof, call the humour police and lock these sick fucks away.
I don't have a problem with it but I could easily see people who would I had a friend whose mother committed suicide and you can't even so much as mention the word without him throwing a fit
He need to move on. If he really does throw fits then TBH i see him a immature.
