Two teens can be seen in the video kneeling with their hands in the air. The officer frisks both of them before ordering them to stand up. “They were having a snowball fight,” the woman recording the incident says. “This group of guys was having a snowball fight and now a cop has a gun on them.” According to the blog, local sources had confirmed that the officer was called to reports of a snowball fight.
I do think that there was more going on, since there are 2 police cars on the scene and someone must have called them. We don't see what happened before they arrived so it's hard to say if they were having JUST snowball fight or there was even more happening...
Gonna assume there was more going on than just a snowball fight. If not, that guy needs to get fired asap.
Thank goodness this officer put an end to the fight before any casulties took place.
Obviously there were grenades inside the snowballs!
Law inforcement heard word of Biological Weapons AKA Yellow snow, being used during the fight. They had no choice but to step in.
Obviously snowball fights are new level of terrorist threat.
Unnecessary overreacting to be honest. If a cop is going to get paranoid over a snowball. Then imagine him getting paranoid over anything. Man throws snake over the counter. This cop sees the man throwing the snake. Shoots the snake. Shoots the man. Shoots the clerk (or cash register guy/server) for that shitty meal he gave him. Like... Holy fuck :V.

Can't really blame the cop for showing up but pulling his gun out is way crossed the line
2 cruisers means the report was obviously not just about a snowball fight.
snow is secret gang language for coke, the kids were flinging drugballs. The world can now be safe now that these hooligans arent throwing danger around.
Since when was a snowball fight illegal? wtf is up with the police in america lately it's like they've gone full on crazy.
Even if those guys were throwing snowballs on random people or some houses, it still gives the officer absolutely NO REASON to point his gun at them.
My guess is the cop was responding to a call because he had to, and drew his gun because this is America and whoever he was approaching could be armed as well.
Who the fuck calls the cops on some kids having a snowball fight

if only the officer was legally allowed to carry a snowball, he could have defended himself

Police officers got out of their cars and one of the individuals bent down, adjusted something in his waistband and ran,” Murphy said. As one officer took off after the suspect, another remained with the five teens who did not run, Murphy said. “Don’t f-----g move, guys,” the cop shouts in one of two clips that were sent to the Talk of the Sound.
We now return to your regularly scheduled circlejerk.
Heh, my mother told me that when she was young the other kids often had rock fights. Like snowball fights, except during the summer and with rocks.
There's too many weapons on our streets!
Well, time to ban snow.
Heh, my mother told me that when she was young the other kids often had rock fights. She went home and complained that it was hurting and her mom told her she was being a baby, later they found out it broke her arm.

Because, ya know... FUK DAH POLICE. :downs:
I really have to doubt that this is entirely true. Perhaps the person who called claimed about assault or got things wrong? Even though it says in the article, couldn't the dispatch or whatever just say "Yeah sorry mam, having fun isn't illegal have a good day." We don't know the whole story for the video only shows what happened during the officers arrival. But honestly this cop just had someone piss in his cup if he had to respond like this, probably driving by and saw they were just throwing snowballs.
How about we see a detailed picture of the gun in the crime scene so we can actually believe what the police are allegedly saying.
We don't need to see a picture of the gun. If we hear the 911 call about the gun then that is enough evidence that these cops had every right to pull their own gun. Who knows if the guy who ran was the one with the gun or just trying to create a distraction for the one with the gun? [editline]2nd February 2015[/editline] Also, can we have a mod correct the OP with the NY Daily News source?
There were probably reports of black ice.
How about we see a detailed picture of the gun in the crime scene so we can actually believe what the police are allegedly saying.
innocent until proven guilty applies to cops too
