Handel had 52 percent of the vote to Democrat Jon Ossoff’s 48 percent when the Associated Press called the race with 80 percent of precincts reporting. Handel’s win preserves Republicans’ 24-seat majority in the House. The special election mushroomed into a nationally watched barometer of Trump’s first five months in office, with anti-Trump Democratic donors from around the country sending a record $23 million-plus to Ossoff’s campaign and Handel trying to keep longtime Republicans behind the party in Georgia’s 6th District, a one-time Republican stronghold that Trump carried by less than 2 points in 2016. The candidates and outside groups spent over $50 million combined during six months of campaigning.
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/06/20/georgia-election-results-ossoff-handel-239778
That's really close for georgia
Need any more proof that cletuses are irreparably stupid? They voted for a candidate who admitted that she doesn't support a livable wage.
Unsurprising. It's a ruby-red district that's gerrymandered to hell and back. Ossoff performed well though. Credit's due for that at least.
People actively vote against their own interests once again
The Democrats poored MILLIONS of dollars into this guy and still couldn't win, lmao. The guy alone got 7800 donations from people in California. It's fitting really. The party of big, overreaching government tries to completely undermine a local election with 50+ million out of state dollars, and STILL manages to lose. The party of incompetence truly shining bright tonight.
A Trump Aligned PAC Tried to tie the Scalise Shooter to Ossof because they are part of the "Unhinged and violent left", but Paul Ryan and the rest of the RNC wanted to pull ad.
Need any more proof that cletuses are irreparably stupid? They voted for a candidate who admitted that she doesn't support a livable wage.
How awfully bigoted of you
How awfully bigoted of you
to their defense, they were essentially being lied to by republican ads saying ossoff supported the likes of the virginia shooter
It's always confused me how MSM insists on tying these sorts of elections to the standing of the President. It's a better barometer of the party's reach, not necessarily the executive's -- especially in this administration.
to their defense, they were essentially being lied to by republican ads saying ossoff supported the likes of the virginia shooter
Which GOP as a party wanted to be pulled, That was a Trump Supported PAC.
Which GOP as a party wanted to be pulled, That was a Trump Supported PAC.
but it still aired all the same, and it was only the worst in a series of missinforming ads that used cut together obama phrases, outright lied about ossoff's positions and experience, and scaremongered
ya except the GOP spent probably more when the bills come in and only narrowly avoided loosing in what was a 12+ point lead district, and they had the house speaker, the senate majority leader, the president, the whips from both chambers, and many more rallying behind a single congresswoman
The GOP spent about half what the Dems spent. There's no spinning this one, it was a complete and utter failure on the part of the Dems.

I don't mean to get in the way of your gleeful shitposting, but maybe he gained so many out of state donations to help turn a red district blue because of how bad Trump is and people in other states see the legislature as a way to prevent him from accomplishing as much as he wants. Unfortunately he lost and the lady who said she doesn't support a living wage won.
How awfully bigoted of you
Raised in Georgia. Assessment accurate. Will allow.

I don't see why this is any different on a micro scale.
The GOP spent about half what the Dems spent. There's no spinning this one, it was a complete and utter failure on the part of the Dems.
It was the most successful Democrat campaign in the district since 1974.
It was the most successful Democrat campaign in the district since 1974.
Of course it was, look at the ridiculous amount of out of state funding he got. They wasted almost 40 million dollars on the closest chance they had to flip something and STILL couldn't beat the GOP. But hey, if wasting 40 million dollars is a win for you, by all means, celebrate.

Obviously those contributions did something. By all means though, continue to celebrate Republicans winning a district they have won with 65% of the vote for the last 40 years that they only won by 5 points this time. It was certainly closely ran.

I would be wary.
Not paying attention. Is Jon Ossoff an actual Left like Bernie or Centre-Left like Obama and Hillary?
Not paying attention. https://electjon.com/priorities/
Of course he might have been selling himself as a centrist due to running in a extremely red district.
Of course he might have been selling himself as a centrist due to running in an extremely red district.
And surprised he fails because It's either symbolized centrism is feeling begin becoming irrelevant on both sides since Bernie (Left populist) or trump's (supposedly Nationalistic populist) policies are becoming widespread.
The GOP spent about half what the Dems spent. There's no spinning this one, it was a complete and utter failure on the part of the Dems.
they're saying that this total went to 50 million, ossoff spent in the range of 23-25 million.
Kek be praised. Another loss for globalist pedophiles and CNN. (User was permabanned for this post ("Troll Gimmick" - UncleJimmema))
