• The DNC Just Screwed Over Bernie Sanders and Spit in Voters’ Faces
Facebook Twitter You may have heard of superdelegates before today, but you may not have realized how antithetical the idea is to democracy itself until now. Bernie Sanders took 60% of the popular vote among the Democratic race on Tuesday, but because of the delegate process, Bernie Sanders will leave with a minimum of 13 delegates, but very likely 15. At the same time, challenger Hillary Clinton (who lost by more than a 20-point margin among the electorate) also walks aways with 15. So how does that work? To break it down, New Hampshire has 24 “pledged” delegates determined by the vote, of which Sanders won 13 and Clinton won 9. However, the state also put forward 8 “superdelegates,” who are insiders in the state’s Democratic party who are free to vote how they choose. Six of these are already pledged to Clinton, with the other two remaining undecided, meaning Sanders can only (at best) tie with Clinton, despite his commanding lead. In the national race, Clinton already has 394 delegates out of a total of 4,763, compared to only 42 for Bernie Sanders. Of those pledged to Clinton, 360 are superdelegates, whereas Sanders has only picked up 8 in this category. 2,382 total delegates are needed to win the party’s nomination.
http://usuncut.com/news/the-dnc-superdelegates-just-screwed-over-bernie-sanders-and-spit-in-the-faces-of-voters/
I sort of hope that Trump and Bernie go independent. The sooner we can shed the Republican and Democratic parties, the better.
I sort of hope that Trump and Bernie go independent. The sooner we can shed the Republican and Democratic parties, the better.
This will be an interesting race if we actually have 4 viable candidates for a change.
God I hate Clinton so badly
I sort of hope that Trump and Bernie go independent. The sooner we can shed the Republican and Democratic parties, the better.
Running as an independent is essentially political suicide.
I sort of hope that Trump and Bernie go independent. The sooner we can shed the Republican and Democratic parties, the better.
I think that Sanders would bow out for Clinton before splitting the vote - I believe he is more concerned with the Republicans winning than Hillary winning.
Running as an independent is essentially political suicide.
Then start a political party.
This will be an interesting race if we actually have 4 viable candidates for a change.
And a bad one, too, with a potential president winning a minority of what the voters want.
I sort of hope that Trump and Bernie go independent. The sooner we can shed the Republican and Democratic parties, the better.
Bernie will never run independant. While hes an outlier in the democratic party, hes not going to sabotage them to give the republicans a better chance of winning.
God I hate Clinton so badly
Unless she has bribed these superdelegates in some way, it's not really her fault but the fault of the whole Democratic Party as a whole for allowing such an undemocratic process in their nomination process.
What a fucking joke of an election process.
He would only do it if Trump runs independent too, thus splitting the GOP vote as well. That's why I would like for both of them run independent.
Like people have already said in many other threads, these 'superdelegates' can change until the last day of the primary. If Sanders continues to do well, then it would be totally expected for quite a few to switch over to him.
wait did he lose or win NH this shit is confusing
Running as an independent is essentially political suicide.
I would rather have infinite parties or "no one is allowed to identify as a party" policies than our current, and frankly archaic, system. It's too easy to get stuck with two absolute shitheads, while everyone callously mewls "b-but, we have to vote with party lines or the other guy wins." I'm not really a huge fan of Bernie or Trump, but it's actually disgusting to see how much both parties are squirming at the idea that their posterchilds aren't really winning over the populace. I didn't even know unelected "superdelegates" were a thing until today. v:v:v
wait did he lose or win NH this shit is confusing
He won NH, but Hillary bought the election years ago.
wait did he lose or win NH this shit is confusing
He won the popular vote, but he has barely any of the superdelegates which, at this point, are nearly all for clinton, even before NH. [editline]ass[/editline]
He would only do it if Trump runs independent too, thus splitting the GOP vote as well. That's why I would like for both of them run independent.
Again, that's shitty for the country as a whole, though. If the election goes like this: Candidate A - 24% of votes Candidate B - 24% of votes Candidate C - 24% of votes Candidate D - 28% of votes Candidate D will win with 72% of the US not wanting him. On top of that, I'm pretty sure one cannot even legally win the presidency with such a voter rate.
Bernie will never run independant. While hes an outlier in the democratic party, hes not going to sabotage them to give the republicans a better chance of winning.
He's said a number of times that whichever candidate the Republican party spews out will be considerably worse than Hillary Clinton and has urged his supporters to vote for her if it comes to it. She's an awful oligarch with endless scandals under her belt, but at least she's had Bernie Sanders as competition to force her to make a load of promises in line with Sanders' policies. She'll most likely break those promises, but she's still better than a Republican.
Holy shit Hillary why.
Again, that's shitty for the country as a whole, though. Neither system is perfect, of course, but just because a candidate has more than 50% of the vote doesn't mean over 50% of the people wanted them.
Then start a political party.
This is what we need: the introduction of a new party into the process. One that capitalizes on the growing discontent that's evolving in Americans towards both the Republicans and the Democrats. I wonder sometimes if this wasn't what Obama wanted originally with that OFA thing he started. In any case, the priority objective of this new party must be to get people to understand that they have the power in this country at the end of the day, and what they say goes. They've got the power, but they've got to start exercising it and working together-- or else not a fucking thing is going to get done. Honestly, somebody like Sanders running something along those lines would be fantastic, especially given the fanatical support he's got (he's got a lot of diehard followers). Imagine if he took his supporters, organized them as footmen in this new party, and started leading the charge against Washington. If we could organize new Million Man Marches like what we saw with the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, if we could act nonviolently but at the same time show emotional frustration and aggression against our political leaders, imagine how much we could get done. Intimidation must be the strategy if there's going to be any change. "We're angry, there's a lot of us, start listening to our demands and start working for us... or else." It's clear the establishment isn't going to reform itself at this point. If a candidate like Sanders cannot infiltrate it with his ideas and with his supporters by winning the election for the presidency, which would be the best way to start, then we'll just have to start eradicating it as outsiders working our way inwards. We need a new party, new rhetoric, new tactics and overall strategies that are more populist-based, rely on the people as the muscle, and (while they should be kept nonviolent) are more aggressive and show not only the vast numbers of people who are demanding change but must also make clear exactly how bitter and serious they are about it. Direct action is a sublime weapon if it's cultivated and utilized properly. This cannot be tolerated. Not only our present socio-economic circumstances that are pitiful for millions of Americans, but moreover this clubhouse game behavior that dominates our political system today and clogs it with greed and corruption.
And this is why were fucked. If it comes down to Hilary vs Donald, I'll vote Donald, not because I just can't stand Hilary, but because I want the country to go into Anarchy. Just imagine, a Conservative as president, majority control of the supreme court, and house going into the Republicans. Each part of the government will be controlled by the same Ideology. Homosexuality will be banned and outlawed, Obama care gone, Insurance rates skyrocket, Pharmacy prices go up 3000%, Minimum wage is abolished, unemployment skyrockets to 30% and above, education is restricted to the privileged and wealthy, interest rates go up 40-50% on all loans, riots in the street, middle class families can no longer support themselves to even have a roof, all the government programs such as social security are gone, Corporations gain continued rights and protections, minority genocide occurs, martial law is declared across the country, a revolution is declared and squashed, and through all this happening, we will be born again as a true Christian nation as the son of God intended it to be!
I'm voting for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson so I hope I'm at least bringing some tiny, probably insignificant but still there attention to the fledgling Libertarian Party as an option other than Red and Blue.

I doubt such a party can succeed.
Tea Party Libertarians have irreparably destroyed the term. I doubt such a party can succeed.
I feel the need to do my part to keep the ideology I like the most afloat regardless of the neocons stealing our name.
yes and people will fucking DIE because you "wanted anarchy lol"
He's either joking or it's some utterly terrible bait.
scratch that, i would prefer instant runoff voting, seems quite a bit more fair and accurate to me
