Actually, the movie was made in 2007. 2009 was the year the Squeakqual was released.

damn, you really brushed up on your alvin and the chipmunks lore
Surprise that he didn't mention Dave's rather enthusiastic "Alvin!!" in the first trailer like how he mentioned Alvin eating the "raisin" instead of Simon in the film. Wonder why the filmmakers did this? Why was Dave's shouts a lot worse in the film than in the first trailer?
I am glad I never watched this movie in full length myself... Despite the non-engaging story and stiff acting, the squeaky voices get jarring real quick. :o
I remember somewhat liking the chipmunks as a kid though. Are the voices that much different or did I just change over time? :D
The voices seem familar somewhat. Are they the original actors/actresses?

Is that Rob Scallon in the intro? Does he normally appear in nostalgia critic episodes, I wouldn't know because I don't watch nostalgia critic often.

Pretty much the only thing different is how the pitches are shifted. No need to speed up reels anymore when we have software that can shift pitches in seconds.
Do you think that the writers were trying to be meta on purpose with the whole "They're talking chipmunks, of course people are going to see them" in order to deflect blame for such a mess.
