It was ok, hopefully it builds up and gets better.
Oh cool its out. WIll have to watch this at some point...
I'm liking this a lot
I hope this doesn't turn into an abandonment issue teen drama.
It was ok, hopefully it builds up and gets better.
The first few episodes of any series are often used to introduce the main characters and plot. Give it another episode or two and it'll pick up.
That was hot.
Halo universe actually has some really good scifi, regardless what you think of the games.
That was awesome! I expected it to be good, not it's better than I expected it to be.
Haven't been following Halo lore in awhile and have some questions. What is "Forward until dawn?" I know it's a ship but that's it. Are all the covenant thought dead? Who are these rebels/terrorist? Also this is giving me a starship troopers (book) vibe
i found it odd that he kept calling that officer / captain / whoever the fuck woman "sir" is that common protocol in the military? i always thought it was mister and sir for males based on rank, and miss and ma'am for females based on rank?

The Covenant as an official force is dead, but there are cells and organization who still believe and follow the old ways. The terrorist forces are insurgents who live in UNSC space that don't like the UNSC. It's basically a galactic civil war.
I thought it was set before the war with the Covenant even began? I haven't actually seen it yet, though, so I could be wrong.
I thought it was set before the war with the Covenant even began? I haven't actually seen it yet, though, so I could be wrong.
This takes place before the existence of the Covenant was known to the general public.
That armor looks badass even though its just training gear.

In Chain of Command sir just means 'person above me in rank', loosely. It isn't specified to gender.
It looks pretty good so far but I really hope it doesn't turn into Twilight: Halo Edition.
The marines shouldnt have been a bunch of kids. [editline]5th October 2012[/editline] Lol calling a woman sir
The marines shouldnt have been a bunch of kids.
They're cadets, not marines yet. They aren't kids either, they are clearly young adults at the beginning of their military career.
Lol calling a woman sir
Do you know anything about the Navy?
Lol calling a woman sir
That is a Military tradition in some countries.
I really hope it doesn't turn into Twilight: Halo Edition.
Why that is even a remote possibility in your mind is beyond me. But then again, you are Spartan.
That is a Military tradition in some countries.
Not in Canada. It doesn't even make sense.
Not in Canada. It doesn't even make sense.
It makes perfect sense. "Sir" in many military is a title of superior authority.
It makes perfect sense. "Sir" in many military is a title of superior authority.

Sir is an honorific address used as a courtesy title to address a man without using his given or family name in many English speaking cultures. It is often used in formal correspondence (Dear Sir, Right Reverend Sir). The term is often reserved for use only towards one of superior rank or status, such as an educator or commanding officer, an elder (especially by a minor), or as a form of address from a merchant to a customer. Equivalent terms of address are "ma'am" or "madam" in most cases, or in the case of a very young woman, girl, or unmarried woman who prefers to be addressed as such, "miss". The equivalent term for a knighted woman is Dame, or "Lady" for the wife of a knight.
from wiki. Instead they should have been calling her Ma'am instead of sir.
from wiki. Instead they should have been calling her Ma'am instead of sir.
That's in common usage, not an exception as is the case in the military.
That's in common usage, not an exception as is the case in the military.
It should be ma'am. It just sound so funny calling a woman sir even if they are a high ranking officer, almost insulting to me. must be one of those funny american things
funny thing is those blisters are due how they are being frozen if they were naked (omg he said naked) like they should be, then they don't get blisters funny, right
You know, I can't find any mention of Female Military Officers in the US Military being called "sir". wikipedia says that is a Fictional thing. I'll try to find a source outside wikipedia. [editline]5th October 2012[/editline] From my research, in real life Female officers are not addressed as "Sir". Any instance of a female officer being addressed as sir is from a work of fiction.
