It fills a niche market. It doesn't matter if it's badly made, it's the only game that does what it does to the extent that people want it to.
Second Life confuses me, it seems like people just stand around and do nothing, and then when you try to talk to them they tell you to fuck off. I don't understand what you do in that game. I've tried it once and I had this exact experience with it and I don't get it at all. :v:

The pirate ship griefing was pretty funny, but the shit in the person's house was a bit much. People pay out the ass for land in SecondLife.

It's like any kind of RP, if even one person involved doesn't take it seriously, it ruins the whole thing. It's like improv or larping or anything else where you have to be in character.
The entire thing seems silly to me but I can see where their frustration is coming from.

Not everyone in SecondLife RP's. Some just hang out and talk, do random activities. . .it's a lot more fun if you approach it in a very self-aware manner.
I've been a SecondLife "resident" for years. I have land, I've had a few jobs inworld. . .it's my home away from home, in a sense. I make and sell items, have good friends (a few of whom I've met in real life). It's something I don't take terribly seriously, but I do respect boundaries and privacy.
I don't roleplay, however. More power to those who do, but I hate it when people go to public sims, and roleplay chat, and expect everyone else to just go with it.
SecondLife is more fun when you stop thinking of it as a game. It's more of a "life simulator" for some.
Manlytears channel was taken down because he was reporting shit loads of videos, then his second channel got taken down because they figured out it was him. Something like that..
My best mates brother is Ronniecoleman in the video, they both stream on twitch pretty much every night and it's always pretty fucking funny. Also, he did Ralph Pootawn (ralph pls go) or something, don't know whether that's true or not, but he's been active on SL for ages.
