UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio — A police cruiser that was responding to a robbery report, its lights flashing, collided with a car at an intersection just northeast of Ohio's capital early Friday, killing all six people in the car and injuring an officer, officials said.
[...]
The people killed in the other vehicle included a small child. Authorities believe but haven't confirmed that the driver and a woman riding with him were the parents of the other four people, all girls, said Chief Robert Oppenheimer of Perry Township police, who are investigating the crash.
Police believe none of the six was wearing a seatbelt.
[...]
"We just don't know anything about the condition of the intersection at the time of the accident," he said. "We've had no witnesses step forward. The only thing we have is the driver of the cruiser, and he's in the hospital, and we're unable to talk to him at this time."
This is a terrible situation for everyone involved. Six people should not have been killed last night because of an automobile accident with a police car. Whats worse is that there are no witnesses to this which doesnt help either case.
That's sad, accidents happen.
Feel bad for the cop.
Officer should be charged with excessive speed.

Don't wanna imply that anybody deserves to die in a car crash but, people, use the fucking seatbelt. It's not a fashion accessory.
Why don't people wear seatbelts?... Especially parents with their children in the car...
I used to be edgy and not wear seat belts, until my school had a presentation and showed people in the backseat implanting their teeth in the back of peoples heads, and people who 'bit the steering wheel' as they call it. Fuck that.

Wow I guess that video of you being a huge shitposter wasn't just satire.
I don't wear a seatbelt.
Can't blame the cop if you didn't wear a seatbelt.
Reminds me of when I was pulling out of a gas station near my house, and was getting ready to stop because I heard an ambulance coming down the road, and all of a sudden the guy in front of me just floors it and drives into the path of the ambulance, I dunno if it's because he was going fast enough or because the driver of the ambulance braked just enough, but luckily the ambulance just barely scraped the back of his truck, the guy still pulled over but the ambulance just kept flying down the road :v: I don't really get how you can miss any emergency vehicle coming down the road, but then again I wasn't at this accident so what do I know?

Think of the children!

You're a bit on the dumb side of life, then.

No, it's not safe for me to wear a seatbelt. If I wore a seatbelt in my vehicle I'd likely be dead in an accident.

It's all entirely possible too. My dad is a Firefighter / Paramedic and has shared some gruesome experiences and photos with me. I've seen entire people cleaved in half because they weren't securely held in place by a seatbelt.
I'm not gonna say that the officer is at fault here. He was responding to an emergency call--a robbery which requires immediate police response. His excessive speed is understandable; I'm just curious as to what caused the collision.

You know someone is a shit poster when they have accumulated 7,000 posts in a year.

Why do you think I'm trolling with that statement? It's completely true.

I don't care about any post facto justification..
If you made a conscious decision to wear a seatbelt, then you were old enough to know better at the time.
I have NEVER gotten into a car an not secured a seatbelt.

I was stupid about past life decisions, chastise me some more for changing my ways.
The cop had his lights on, was responding to a robbery and the 6 weren't wearing seat belts. It was just an accident and I hope the cop isn't charged with anything
Jesus, imagine having that on your conscience, poor guy.

Without emotion, suffering and that one poster who makes some controversial early post SH would be a lot less entertaining.
