there has not been anything interesting happening in post hardcore since hmmmm 1992

1st wave post hardcore = the only post hardcore
helmet are probably the last post hardcore band to exist with any dignity ie not incorporating the pop sensibilities that were exactly what punk and thus post hardcore was created to destroy
Fugazi, you fucks.
[editline]21st October 2010[/editline]
Beat me to it.
This thread is forever ruined by the OP not having fugazi.

although overall I agree with you mostly
You guys could always suggest bands to put in the OP instead of being passive-aggressive dicks about it. Up to you.
I like The Fall of Troy and Emery but that's about it. Haven't really felt like looking to much farther into other bands.
As far as mainstream/modern post-hardcore goes, Chiodos is pretty ok.

if you just wanted to talk about the latest trends in christian rock you should have said so. don't get mad when we talk about actual post-hardcore
I like post hardcore, it's good stuff
I also like Post-Hardcore, if you like Enter Shikari you should check His Statue Falls.

It's a pretty great genre.
Post-hardcore is fun live
The only Post-Hardcore band I listened to is Drive Like Jehu. I listened to the "Yank Crime" album. It was a pretty great album, nothing amazing though.
Yeah post-hardcore is ok i guess.

why are you spamming that image all over this board
The only post-hardcore band I know that isn't here already:
Amia Venera Landscape
The only Post-Hardcore band I listened to is Drive Like Jehu. I listened to the "Yank Crime" album. It was a pretty great album, nothing amazing though.
Yeah their first album is better if you ask me. more energetic
why are you spamming that image all over this board
cuz its funny i guess
wikipedia says that unwound is a post-hardcore band, so i guess i like post-hardcore?
OP if you can't tell post hardcore from metalcore, you should probably learn your genres better
[editline]23rd October 2010[/editline]
and nice attention seeking little title on the end, I don't think that was entirely neccessary
none of the bands in op were metalcore
well at least they were post-hardcore mainly
I didn't say any of them were, I was just talking about the part how he mentioned that sometimes he gets metalcore mixed with post hardcore
I would find that fairly difficult to do, they're very different imo

I never got angry over you guys discussing actual post-hardcore. Plus, the only real christian band I can think of that I originally listed was blessthefall. Attack Attack denied it in a blog post and From First to Last even hits towards being against Christianity a tad bit claiming that they "bought up hardcore." It's just a song though. It sounds like you dislike it only because of the fact that they produce Christianity-related music, that sounds very intolerant, but I think what you mean is that you don't like the mainstream post-hardcore.
There is one post hardcore band that I like.
Known about them for some time now, but they don't seem to be gaining popularity. Reguardless, I love their sound.

On an off-topic note, they have some really good acoustic songs. Perfect for a relaxing day.

It's cool. Yes even the latest wave. Modern post-hardcore is the new pop punk I think. There's uninnovative and cliched material, then good stuff. I can see why punk and metal heads would hate it though.

I'd say more than okay but I totally agree!
Post Hardcore is just hardcore made after the first wave of hardcore? Or do I have it entirely wrong?
Post-Hardcore has its origin in Punk according to Wikipedia.
