http://www.youtube.com/html5 Thought this was worth posting Videos load instantly but don't have HD, not all videos are supported, and you can't go fullscreen I think this is cool, hopefully it actually goes somewhere
Tick, tock.
late also
This and Youtube Feather are different features, but both are meant to increase loading speeds.
html5 will boost the Information Super Highway's speed limit by 10mph
Doesn't support Firefox. What the fuck.
So old....
FUCK YES. No more god damn Flash. I'm going to uninstall Flash right now.
FUCK YES. No more god damn Flash. I'm going to uninstall Flash right now.
That wouldn't be very smart.
FUCK YES. No more god damn Flash. I'm going to uninstall Flash right now.
Fuck you, Flash is awesome.
Doesn't support Firefox. What the fuck.
Psshh. Firefox is so last decade. :gay:
That wouldn't be very smart.
I don't mind missing out on those websites that only display in flash. I hate entirely flash based sites. Not having Flash installed is a nice replacement for not having NoScript in Chrome block flash for me.
Its an Google plan to knock out Firefox
Awesome. I'm loving this!
Atleast shit loads now, holy shit.
I can load a 10min video in like 5 seconds. Instead of watching the slow read bar creep across the screen.
Firefox won't support this since Google uses H.264 for the videos, and you need to pay a licensing fee for it. Google already has paid it, so Chrome works and Apple basically made the fucking thing, so Safari works. But no support from Firefox for this, and I can understand, H.264 is a propietary crapcake. It's nice but seriously, why pay a fucking licensing fee when you can just use Theora.

Heck Firefox may even have a chance at supporting Xvid in the future.
Yeah, I don't get why Youtube isn't using Theora. Heck Firefox may even have a chance at supporting Xvid in the future.
Because before the change, the videos were already in H.264. Basically, the videos were H.264, played through Flash. Now they just take the H.264 and play it with the <video> tag.
Doesn't support Firefox. What the fuck.
liitle firefox pissed off papa google, remember? paybacks a bitch
That's just the loading bar not working.
Well still loads faster then. I have yet to pause a video to wait for it to load.
Can't use it in Firefox :sigh:
Does FireFox even support HTML5 yet? I know Chrome does and I think Opera does. But does FireFox?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! capslol Finally, no more pathetic loading times! :cawg:
I lost all respect for YouTube after seeing this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK91Gsx1ePE&feature=featured [sp]This is what all YouTube videos will look like very soon.[/sp]
Videos with ads are not supported (they will play in the Flash player)
So that would be over 90% of all YouTube videos?
Does FireFox even support HTML5 yet? I know Chrome does and I think Opera does. But does FireFox?
Yes it does but not with H.264 as already explained. H.264 is patented.
I lost all respect for YouTube after seeing this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK91Gsx1ePE&feature=featured
Oh god.
I don't think it works for me, I still see the bar creep and I'm using chrome.
Doesn't work for me in Chrome. I hear the first few seconds of audio, see a frozen image of the video, then it gets stuck and never plays. EDIT: Well nevermind, it seems to work now. :v:
