I don't know if this has been posted, and a search turned up nothing, so:
I was listening to the White Album, and a lot of the songs off this are really popular. Revolution 1, Guitar Gently Weeps, etc, but the one song I believe deserves the most recognition is the last one, "Good Night". Good Night is beautiful, fabulous, and one of the best closing songs on any album ever produced, but it's obscured by the other songs that are more popular.
So there's my example, any you guys have?
Under-appreciated songs off legendary albums you mean?
This is a bit vague for a viable thread. It will just end up being songs from people's favourites.
Hey Bulldog, it's kind of a hidden gem of sorts. It's on Yellow Submarine, which is normally overlooked by people because it's mostly film score.
But Hey Bulldog is a really good track and it doesn't receive enough air time.
Metallica's Load album, the songwriting's pretty good for a lot of it once you get over the distinct lack of metal
4 weeks at #1 in the states, sold 5 million albums. 4 stars from Rolling Stone. Seems underrated.
That in mind, I didn't care about the album's release at all.
