The important thing to realize for non-fighting game players is that he had to parry all the attacks and not just defend. Parrying works by pressing defend right before you get hit, so he had to parry like 12 different times to then go on and win.
On a personal note, I usually watch this video before playing Street Fighter since it pumps me up so much.
The new street fighter third strike video game has a challege where you have to try and do this. Pretty much impossible.
It's also crazy knowing that this was his only way to win as he had no health, if he just defended the super attack he would have lost. I think the guy won the tourny after this.
