The Delicate Art of Flan and Other Delish Desserts

Hohoho, I'm enjoying making threads.
I have a personalized flan recipe that has gone through our family and gosh it is delicious. It is just purely sweet, fluffy, creamy, and simple.
What you will need:
1/3 cup sugar
3 beaten eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
another 1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Set oven to 350F.
First off, get a skillet and cook the 1/4 cup sugar on medium heat. When it first begins to melt, don't touch it. Eventually, once you see it's somewhat melted, stir it gennntly. This process will entirely take a few minutes. Some people like the more bitter taste and if that's what you want, go for a full five minutes. As soon as it's entirely melted, stir it until it's all syrupy and golden brown. Immediately, pour it into separate dishes or one dish, depending on how many servings you want. By the way, I recommend you double the recipe if it's more than just yourself. Flan goes faaaasst.
The melted sugar will immediately try and turn into a glue like candy. Leave it be. Now combine the eggs, milk, the rest of the sugar and the vanilla. Pour into a bigger bowl than you need, because it'll fluff up when you beat it. It shouldn't be foamy too much. Pour that into your small cups or one big pan. Now, take a pan and put just a bit of water in it (1 inch should work, or less- not too much or you'll slow down the cooking process). Then put your custard cups or pie into that pan with water. It can take anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes, depending on your preference. A knife will come out clean if it's fully cooked.
It's delicious warm and straight from the cup or pan, or you can cool it, go around the edges with a knife, put a plate over the top and flip. Slowly slide the cup/pan off. The glaze should be on top.
Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Delish!
I had pictures but they're not working. :<
After it comes out, peel the top layer off. Let it cool! :)
There you have it folks. YUM.
flan is fucking amazing. my only problem with this is it looks like this takes a lot longer to make than instant flan from a box but I am assuming it's worth it

Hmm, it barely takes time at all~
and whoops. Mah bad. 1/3 both times. I'll fix that. 1/3 sugar is for the glaze, the other 1/3 sugar is for the flan part itself.
