[release] Officials in North Korea have stated that arrests have been made for viewing the US film "2012". This is because 2012 is Kim Il-Sung's 100th birthday and the annihilation of the "powerful nation" of North Korea was deemed 'unforgivable'. According to sources, when watching the bootlegged movie imported from China, a man was reported to the police by someone he knew and he was promptly arrested. Reportedly, the authorities stated "To watch this movie is a serious offense to the nation" and those watching the movie can find themselves in more than five years of imprisonment. These sources also report that multiple arrests have been made for watching this movie. In recent years, North Korea has tried everything from redenominating its currency and instating harsh "100 day war" and "150 day war" working programs - but these things only increase the social chaos brewing up in the nation - and this "2012" crackdown hints toward Kim Jong Il now becoming very desperate for control of his nation.
